Pater reached out with his mind, using the marine's momentum and accelerating him across the room into the opposite wall with as much force as he could muster, firing away with his psycannon as the marine flew by him.

Nathan dragged Prius as he felt the shrapnel rip into his arm .The battery exploded providing some cover for them and a needed distraction for Pater to get his lascannon shot off.

Nathan pulled a few patches out and sealed his suit quickly."Four more......."

The Traitor yelled his battlecry and lashed out with his chainsword, Lillith caught the blade on the metal heft of the longinus, the power field protected the whole spear, and there was a clash of sparks as the two energy fields repelled each other. the backward butt of the spear disintergrated matter as it crashed down on the traitor's leg.

The traitor was clearly somewhat stronger then her, but not as fast, her weapon though was strong, still the beast was too close, using leverage she kicked out sending them both apart, as the force she drove into it's damaged knee, propelled her upward and back. Infuriated by it's lust to please it's blasphemus "Blood god" it charged into her waiting blade, spraying her black, and gold thread cloak with it's currupted ichor.

There was something not right comming up. A strange twisted creature weapon's for limbs she dodged fire from the lasbeam, as the limb changed to a close combat claws, she stisted, striking with the point, and blocking as she wore it down. as she saw an opening she struck again, only to find nothing... The creature had disappeared...

traveling to where she sensed the threat to be she saw a number of strange creatures, doglike monsters pulling out her pistol, she fired, the creatures screamed in pain as the psybolts, burned them.

The sister, traveling at a tireless pace, lillith felt her fatigue lessoning, the bruises on her arm were already turning colour and healing. Still there was a slight weakness in her left hip where the edge of the sonic weapon had torn through her previous carapace armour.

She traveled to where she felt the greatest disturbance...

Somewhere in the recesses of his mind, life awakened. His whole body was in agony. Nothing seemed in its place. Even his mind seemed jumbled. Glad to see that you are awake. The voice, again. Xerxes remembered dying. He did die, handn't he? He tried opening his eyes. He saw nothing. He tried to move his limbs, but still nothing. The mending will take time. But it will forge you anew. You will soon forget your bondage to the False Emperor. Be welcomed to Chaos.

Quickly swivelling the lascannon around, Pater triggered it directly into the back of the second marine...

Mortragor stalked through the engineerium, relishing the moans of the injured and the dying. Too many battle brothers had died to return from here without success. He must find that accursed inquisitor. Eyes opened along the length of the blood streaked blade clenched in his right hand.

The Traitor Legionaires withdrew from the hydroponics bay. With the lights shattered, they were almost invisible in the darkness. Continued frontal result would only result in more casualties. Fortunately, the Black Legion had ways of dealing with even stubborn resistance. As the Legionaires retreated, their commander and his bodyguard advanced on the command center.

Checking her armour she noticed the location of her master, traveling at a brisk pace for her. <bleaping fast for most everyone else> Patar saw a side wall glow as black lightning cut through it, the traitors, and the inquistioner's felt a strange senation come over as the wall section came flying into the room, followed by a black and crimson blur.

"Shit!, she hasn't learned to control herself fully yet. She's must be moving at at least 110kph right now, tearing herself apart. "

"-we know what's up with the gravity - the conntrol mechanisms have been corrupted by something. We'd need a Techpriest to fix them. As for the jamming - it's coming from the bridge comm station. We can't do anything about it from here directly, but we could try cutting the bridge off the main power grid."

Adivan cut off the technician's report with a suddenly raised hand and a brief "do so," and he seemed to sniff for a moment.

"He's here, everybody, check your weapons, and give me all the grenades you can spare. I have an idea..."

"They're retreating," Prius started to say, then suddenly his sense of the chaos marines was blanked. Pater stared at the remains of the marine he killed, then watched as Lilith came flying in with loads of flash and no style...

If there was a hell, Xerxes was in it. His whole body was filled with an incomprehensible suffering. But with each stab of pain, he felt himself grow stronger...and different. Soon he began to ignore the pain, then actually welcome it. He regained feeling in his limbs, and his eyes could see once more. And something else... A language he had never known, words he had never used, flowed into his mind.
Prayers and rituals and truths overwhelmed him. It was a wonderful feeling. He felt pure elation, pure lust, for... what?
His own mind answered him: vengeance against the False Emperor. The one who had denied all of mankind of happiness, of Chaos. Anger rised like gorge in his throat. Action must be taken!
Slowly, he rose. He peered around through his smashed helmet. He tugged it off, snapping the hermetic seal with ease. A new sense filled him. He could feel his brothers near, and the more distant Warp-sense of the False One's servants. He streched his remade body, feeling the power course through it. He was attracted to a particularly strong source of Chaos nearby. Turning, he found it. Walking forward with a new purpose, he stopped behind him. "Greetings...blood brother."

"So do I Inquisitor," said Mortragor. He had not forgotten the stealth arts learned as a scout and with Varn'iar one had as good of a tracker as one could ever need. Warp lightning flashed from his hands, sending bodies wreathed in eldritch fire spinning through the room. Their death screams were sweet music. The traitor lunged foreward to finish the inquisitor.

The retreating legionaires laid down a hail of bolt fire augmented with two volleys of grenades. They would return soon, but anything that wished to counter attack would be welcome to do so and be cut down without mercy.

Adivan had been assembling the remainder of his grenades - mainly frag, and few krak as well - when Mortragor appeared. The others had no had time to give him theirs, but there was no time for that; he hurled what he had at the Chaos Sorceror with all the strength he could muster, triggering them as the cloud of explosive devices surrounded his enemy. Shrapnel flew everywhere, and two Krak grenades imploded at the shoulder of the arm that held the Daemon Sword, tearing at his defences. An instant later, those of the Stormtroopers that were still alive let fly at the Traitor Marine, with Adivan's combiweapon joining in; As the fusillade continued, even those weapons that had belonged to the dead joined in, flating slowly into the open, their triggers held down by invisible hands.

At about the same time, all power to the bridge was cut off, and the command area was plunged into darkness for a few seconds before the emergency lighting came on.

Pater ducked as stray rounds punched into the area where the inquisitors were hiding.

"Yes, leaving, good," he said tersely, then looked at Nathan. "We have to get moving. We can't just let them roam freely."

Against his wards all the frag grenades succeeded in doing was killing more Imperials. The krak grenades were another issue entirely. Purple blood fountained as his right arm was severed. That didn't matter to a Space Marine and his wounds would regenerate eventually.

A psychic shockwave flashed out, striking down the Imperials and disrupting the inquisitor's telekinetic tricks. As he blurred foreward, he raised his left fist to crush Adivan with his warp augmented strength.

faster, and faster still, she faced more hounds, but behind them was their master, time slowed down, the heat of the melta pistol, burned the air, and her hand, through her armour, as she moved faster still, she could see things more clearly, and more focused. dropping her fusion weapon amoung the doglike creatures, which parted before her, drawing out the bolter pistol, with inscriptions of the holy sisterhood on the side. she could clearly see the individual bolts, as they traveled, and the cast off propellent charges spun off, the sorcerer howled a demonic cry, retreating in pain.

Walking more slowly now the sister returned to her master. coughing, leaning on her primary weapon, she collapsed, sleeping barely above death, yet healing....

On the periperary of his consciousness, Mortragor felt a thrall sorcerer fall into a haze and vanish. The planted cultists had obviously moved foreward to support their masters and that haze could only be a blank. Well bolter rounds kill them as dead as this slow moving inquisitor is about to be.

Pater looked at Lilith, then over at Prius. "Commissar, can you watch over her?"

Prius nodded. "I need a weapon."

A hellgun levitated through the air, settling into his waiting hands, then Pater and Nathan went off to harry the marines.

He's lost his grip on that sword. Good. Now, to follow up... As the Chaos Sorceror's fist came down in a blurred arc, Adivan twisted aside and to the left, towards his enemys severed arm. Diverting a precious thread of concentration to telekinetically searching for more Krak grenades, he swung his energy blade in both hands and swung across and down, into Mortragor's neck, before he could recover from the missed swing.

The wounded hound daemon growled lowly before it's master.

It revealed insights and scents to it's master about the strange girl.

Lena jumped up, out of the bed at once, though there had been no distress signal, she knew that something was wrong. The Astartes ship.

She dashed out of the room, uniform half off, grabbing her sword belt, and fastening it as she ran, brushing the senior officers of the crew out of her way forcefully. The heavy blast doors that guarded the bridge were open and she dashed through, screaming at the top of her lungs, “Destroy the Strike-Cruiser!

There were looks of confusion all around, and the naval commissar on the bridge began walking towards her meaningfully. She stopped, and glared at the man, and rather suddenly he fell to his knees, whispering a prayer. She shouted again, “It is a traitor ship. Open fire, now!”

Within moments, as it moved to avoid striking the nearby inquisitorial ship, the vast battleship opened fire. Like the wrath of an angry god a torrent of fire descended, at a rate imperial navy ships could only dream of. The heretic vessel’s void shields flared impotently and were overwhelmed. It returned fire, but too late as the thousands upon thousands of lasers, masers, fusion beamers and railguns splattered across its armoured surface, digging into the protective armour around the engines. With a colossal burst of energy, the warp-reactor powering the vessel exploded in a great blast, blue-hot and flecked with gibbering mouths and shapes of unspeakable things from beyond the viel.

Lena glared at one of the sensor operators. “Did the traitor ship board the inquisitorial vessel?” she demanded.

He nodded, “Yes ma’am but I imagine they have it well in hand.”

“No,” she said, “they are marines, who betrayed me.”

“Me?” asked the first officer.

“The Emperor,” she snapped, correcting herself, “prepare a shark assault boat for launch, and get those Iron men to board it.” She walked briskly back the way she had come, intending to go with them to all appearances.

Mortragor realised what was happening a moment too late. I have failed you, my Gods!

No, no you haven't. He suddenly realised that he was no longer aboard the Star Fort. He was floating in a sectioned-off bubble of the Warp, looking at a puny human... Whose Psychic powers could smash through his own at will.

Welcome to my Parlour. The dead gather here, and return to torment the living. Said the PsyKing.

Xerxes' eyes flooded with milky white fluid, his face drained of color. His hair shriveled up like burnt grass, and his teeth rotted and elongated. He felt his skin crawl and tingle as it morphed and hardened. His hearbeat slowed, then seemingly stopped. He suddenly stopped feeling the need to breath. A good feeling, yes? "Indeed." he said, his voice gravelly. "Indeed."
