I've wondered how much of his bandwidth my signature has eaten up over the last eight months or so. I think I'll talk to Wong.

A question for the military buffs here:What's really reasonable for an army size under following conditions:
Large populace, healthy economy, militaristic culture, strong and large military with conscription?
Don't want to make stupid guesses...

Due to timeline restrictions, you can't have proper conscription, you have only a professional army and potentially militia-style levies of low quality. For a nation of your likely proportions, a total no holds barred military effort might yield 400,000 soldiers.

Just remember that that is your absolute maximum and to raise something like that will be to risk bankruptcy.

Anyone who wishes to have a country please say so now as I'm in the process of placing them.

Me, and a big one that consumes the equivalent of the lower Balkans, Asia Minor, and Syria. If it's not too much trouble.

I do.
Something reasonably large, with a small sea coast. And mountainous.

I do. Some large plains would be nice. East of the Germans something the size of Poland-Lithuania.

Okay new country, a state similar to Russia(much smaller of course) in under Peter the Great

Nation: Occvia
Leader: Dersnian III
Capital: Pein
Geography: Southern Occvia borders on some warmer areas(next to the German regions maybe?). The hold one warm water port. Most the country is frozen round year, mountains on the northwestern border, large forests

Government: Monarchy

Populace: Fairly large, most people live in the south

Religion: Old monothesistic religion, Dersnian is attempting to phase it out

Army:Very large, infantry is equiped poorly compared to other nations. Occvia uses a large number of static heavy cannons enplaced on old, heavy fortresses as the first line of defense

Navy: Small, several ships of the line and some smaller interceptors.

good?

No further entries for major nations will be accepted from this time. If someone still wants to join after this the best your going to get is a single city-state.

I've got the following people down as having countries

Sea Skimmer
Pablo Sanchez
The Duchess of Zeon
Alyrium Denryle
Dahak
Captain_Cyran
Stravo
Jadeite
JediNeophyte
justifier
Captain Lennox
MKSheppard

And Jaded Masses is down as a mercenary group

There are a number people who posted once before a date was even agreed on and never again. They have not received countries as a result. If your one of them and do want a country I'll give you till the end of the day to say something and will see what can be arranged. There should be space for another nation or two now that I've enlarged the map.

Assuming all goes well I should have the map of the western world done by tonight. For the wider world I'm thinking where just going to use the world as it was, though with adjustments to colonies. However some people don't even have a name for there country yet nor a profile for it. In terms of military data I'm inclined to be fairly lax, you'll need to list your ships by rate and have a total for your army and guns.

Map COMPLETED

Due to a decision to expand the thing there's actually a surplus of space so an extra player will be welcome. Especially since I'm unsure if one or two of the existing players will actually participate. I dont yet have a host but I'll email this basic version to anyone who PM's me to ask for it. Include your email address.

I would like to put in a request for a city-state in which to support a new fleet. I realize that even a lone, if tricked out and slightly magical, ship is not an effective mercenary force. Instead I would like a large port/island in the middle of no where that acts as a rest stop for travelers (making it a bit of neutral zone) and from which a force of 700 navy and 1800 army spread out over 10 ships or so and a force of similar size filling out the defense and police forces at the port. All military forces number about 1400 navy personal and 3600 army. The port has a fixed population of around 15000 and a transient pop of 800, made up of sailors and stowaways, waiting for the next ship going whare they're going.

Is this alright with everybody?

I gave you a pair of moderate sized islands in the curret map draft. They should be able support such a force. Though I think I'll move them around to a better location trade route wise. I'm sure more then one alteration will be reguested.

The map has been sent to those who requested it.

Very good map Skimmer, I like the set up, some very juicy NPC states nearby everyone for conquest or control.

Thank you. I'm hoping to replace the cluster in what was France before I welded Scotland onto it with a live player. But no further interest seems to be spawning.

It looks good, but I have a few thoughts:

I think Justifier should be more geographically isolated to justify (no pun, damnit) his delayed development. Maybe expand the "Alps" to cut him off from the German states and Duchess, and make the north-western section of the Weak NPCs south of him a swampland...
