You destroyed books in my military's HQ, which is A mile under the earth, which would have jammers for every last sort of thing in it. That no fly under DS9 tech.

But look at it this way, would you be ab le to jam someone literally taking a piece of their soul back? Soul drain is what is represented by an XP cost.

It is not necessarily a signal if you paid attention, it is basically the mages saying "you know what.. that is my magic that enchants those pages, I will dispell it"
It is not a signal, but rather cutting off the magical power that flows through the pages.

So, wait, the magic in the book, which operates independetly of them (other wise you wouldn't be able to cast spells from other's books/scrolls) is told to destroy itself? And then the magic that's in the copied books too? (I figure I've got a half decently cadre of mages from the Skaven Refugees, they buddy up on each book [I'm guessing five books] so I would think I could get most of the books done in a couple hours)

It'll be great when the Ousters buy some off of him. I'll wager with a better knowledge of Arcanist spellcasting techniques, our blackeyes will be able to improve their performance at countering magic significantly.
