Have any major FPS even had input lag problems? Or did they just invent a problem to solve to demonstrate how dedicated they are?
PS I heard someone go on about the whole 60fps thing last night and I couldn't help but roll my eyes.l

Some have notably ArmA and ArmA2 had fuckloads. Its not a consistent lag, but it is such that when doing precise movements (i.e. every time you shoot at something beyond 50m) you notice that there is no relationship between a small movement of the mouse and the movement of the sights. They fixed it mostly in one of the later patches for ArmA2, so it went from being infuriating to merely frustrating.Stark wrote:Have any major FPS even had input lag problems? One of the things that I appreciate about CoD is that it has good input. You actually have a feeling that if you are skilled enough you can accomplish any action rather than having to fight the interface to get anything done.
Apparently nobody can see you without a signature.

Is that input lag, or the whole mouse resolution 'grid' thing where fine movements are impossible? I remember the 'grid' being a big deal in the 90s. 'Input lag' to me means a delay between input and result.
The idea that CoD has a better mouse feel than other games confuses me. ArmA was a broken piece of shit, so it doesn't surprise me it had input problems, but smooth input is an assumption, not a special bonus power.
