Re: Let's Play the Megacampaign
When the time comes will we be able to alter our empires relegion? The thought of a world dominating drunk Irish Empire going on crusades in the name of Buddism for example sounds hilarious.
This odyssey, this, exodus. Do we journey toward the promised land, or into the valley of the kings? Three decades ago I envisioned a new future for our species, and now that we are on the brink of realizing my dream, I feel only solitude, and regret. Has my entire life's work been a fool's crusade? Have I led my people into this desert, only to die?

Yes, but it would take decades at the least, and only in EU3. And it would give us huge rebellions for a bit. Then again, we'd have a huge army, and we have centuries... sure, why not?

Or, something I need a better name for. Suggestions?
Chapter the Fourth: A Tale of Ireland and Iberia
...Has been canceled. You know why? Just when I was about to begin the invasion of Spain, I noticed this.
See that pale bluish-purple? That's all the Kingdom of Leon- the people who become Spain in real history. In completely related news, I hate you, barnest2. You made a joke about the future and that future actually happened.

I -warned- you about continental Europe. I told you dawg.
Hows Scotland looking? We might be able to break in there while the French and English deal with Leon.

I didn't save that future. I'm hoping it was a freakish anomaly that simply won't happen the next time I try to run it. I just wanted to put something up to explain exactly where the time involved in making a new update went- into suddenly finding that line of history slightly too... impossible.

So... Muslim killing time? North Africa? I know it's more expensive, but it also appears to be much, much safer.

Like I said- I didn't save that history. Nothing's changed since the last update. If anything, it means we need to attack Spain immediatly, to prevent that from happening again.

I also noticed that update about the Duchy of Northumberland declaring war against the Kingdom of France. Does this mean the British/French alliance is breaking up?
Baltar: "I don't want to miss a moment of the last Battlestar's destruction!"
Centurion: "Sir, I really think you should look at the other Battlestar."

Centurion: "No. It is a Battlestar."

Re: Let's Play the Megacampaign
Working on it now. Here's hoping that we're fast enough to stop it- we do not want Spain running all of Europe. That sort of timeline would be an inescapable defeat.

Btw, you're planning on transferring onto EU3 when this timeline runs out, yes? Do we keep our empire, or do we have to start again? If we do, how does it work?

THE MEGACAMPAIGN: CRUSADER KINGS: DEUS VULT
Chapter the Fourth: A Tale of Ireland and Iberia
Or, Holy Shit That's a Lot of Rebels
In early July of 1077, the army of King Sancho of Navarra landed on Irish soil to assault his personal enemy, the Duke of Munster. Murchaid, King of Ireland, could not tolerate this, and declared war on Navarra immediately.
Taking with him several thousand men of the Royal Army, the King set sail for Navarra to show this foolish King exactly why to never declare war on the Irish. However, while the King was away, the Kingdom's plummeting coffers caused several of the local lords to attempt to overthrow the King and return Ireland to its former disunited state. They were dealt with harshly by the forces the King had left behind.
The King, meanwhile, stayed behind, girmly determind to finish the war he had started, even while his country tore itself apart behind him. As one county after another spiraled into the throes of open rebellion, the Pope demanded he accept their independance and restore peace. The King refused, and was excommunicated for daring to try to save his nation. By late August of 1080, the King realized that staying further in Navarra was pointless. Ireland had to come first. He made the best peace with Navarra he could, and returned home to smite some rebellions counts. But in Decenber of that same year, the most terrible disaster yet occured. The County of Sligo, a part of Ireland proper, had defected. To the Kingdom of Leon, which still outclassed the young Kingdom of Ireland. But the King had no choice, none at all.
He would accept war with the Kingdom of Leon. Irish unification, whatever the cost. Leon never attacked. But as 1083 dawned, the rebellions raged on.
In other news... ah, goddamnit. rebels!
Anyway, you have a choice. I can undo this entire chapter- I saved it as a different file from what I loaded. We can go back to before any of this happened, if you want.
And yeah barnest, we keep the empire- I'll explain later, gotta run at the moment.

Let's re-do that chapter methinks!

Re: Let's Play the Megacampaign
Ok then. To prevent this sort of historical let's-try-that-again from becoming completely ubiquitous, I'm imposing a completely arbitrary rule. You can undo the events of any given chapter, but you only have three pushes of the 'undo' button. If undoing doesn't help, you get the undo back. Sound fair enough?
Hey, don't blame me. I'd give out infinite retries, but Q dumped you all back in ancient Ireland, not me.

Re: Let's Play the Megacampaign
Ever. Which is at least nineish centuries or so, more if we decide to carry on past this series into SPACE!
EDIT: Which should make you think carefully about when to use them, and limit their use to only when All Hope Seems Lost, or whatever. I'd actually recommend against doing it now- the King's getting into his fifties, which is pretty old for back then, and is getting a lot of illness events. He even got pneumonia during that short-lived invasion of Navarra. Once he's dead, loyal vassals will be easier to come by, particularly since our new sovereign is pretty much inevitably going to have a better diplomancy score- Murchaid is about as low as you can go on that score short of actually being dead.
