Fifth Fleet emerged from hyperspace directly over Ix'agal, guns at the ready. Fighters roiled from the carriers' bays as the two battleships rolled out into planetary bombardment positions. Messages blared out on all channels, demanding the Covenant's immediate surrender. They hadn't gotten the surrender message in hyperspace.

Commodore Eamon LeClerc, one of the dhampir advisors that had been sent with the Arcane fleet, chimed in at this point, "They probably do not intend to honor their surrender for very long. It's impossible to trust religious fanatics of this sort. Were this my fleet to command I would continue the bombardment until the surface no longer supported life."
The captain of the Starjammer looked at the halfbreed angrily, "It is not your fleet, thankfully."

"I am gravely disappointed. Again you have made me unleash my dogs of war."

The fully armed Jardanian troops had a field day, it wasn't often that got to shoot somthing that bleeds. The surge of people including many angry clerics who did not agree with the high priests decisojn.. plotted and scemed the downfall of the Jardanian Empire.
The Lt looked at the approaching mob.
"FORM UP!"
His troops, the servo's in their basic power armor whirring as they moved, formed a crude 2 person thickline and braced their rifles. The first row kneeling so the second could shoot over their heads.
"FULL AUTO!"
The auto/single-shot modes on 100 plasma rifles cliked.
"TROOPERS........."
He grinned.
"......disperse the mob."
Over the screams of the mob, the Lt remembered his basic training: "There is no 'overkill' there is only 'open fire' and 'time to reload'."
--
All over the landing points, the same situation repeaded itself. In the few cases where the mob was simply too huge, fighters or corvetts provited air support. Within a matter of hours, the main control center and other major stations of Eaden where under Jardanian control.
--
In space, the covenant fleet had been borded and the ships instantly brought under Jardanian control. Once abord, Jardanian techs powered down the reactors, so they would be no threat if thte crew someone seized control of them again.

The Fifth Fleet task force took up orbit around Ix'agal. Drop ships shuttled back and forth, taking Marines and mechanized/heavy armor vehicles to the surface and bringing back the occasional prisoner shipment. Republic fighters soared through the skies. It was quite a change from the enforced religious discipline that had reigned here only a few days before...

Sensors across the Edean system, sensors picked up a bewildering image- dozens of bright, clear signatures bearing in from out of system at FTL speeds.
Over Edean, a swarm of black ships decellerated almost instantly, their Kincaid fields hurling excess kinetic energy into hyperspace. The duo of Cataphracts which made up the spreadhead of the Hajr's 3rd War Cluster dropped out of FTL speeds almost on top of the Covenant fleet assigned to defending the ringworld.
Sensors reached out, temporarily bewildered- All the expected targets had their shields down. No time was given to contemplating the situation- a prolonged duel would result in excessive losses, and blessings were taken were they were given. An Ouster assault raid was not the sort of punch which could be pulled.
From the forewards batteries off the two massive Cataphracts, wave-motion cannon sounds, rupturing space-time, tearing the unshielded vessels to shreds. Antimatter beams lashed out, reacting with exposed hulls with spectacular effect. Rapidly moving groups of Strike Cruisers danced among the stricken vessels, whirling like dervishes, discharging their torpedo tubes at full automatic while lashing out with their spinal-mount guns. The vessels were locked in a tight formation to harden their point-defense against the Jardanian fire, and were paying the price in the pitched battle- nay, massacre.
A Glorious Commandment-class DN was ripped in half by a broadside from the Pinnacle of Evolution. Her hull split, spilling decompressing Covenant and Jardanian spacers into the void. Seconds later, a half-dozen Deathless Crusader-class vessels exploded almost simultaneously as The Dominance Of Primates opened up with her forewards batteries, cutting their tightly-knit formation to shreds.
In the first twenty seconds, almost half of the Covenant vessels had been destroyed. Almost all of the rest sustained greivous damage.
The Covenant's surrender would have been accepted by the Ousters, almost certainly- but Ouster vessels didn't mount hypercomms, and no-one had bothered to contact them via freecaster.

Over the next few weeks Arcanian troops marched through the streets, and dragons soared through the skies. The populace was cowed, especially with their religious leaders.. gone...
People were no longer afraid to profess their true beliefs and new churches popped up out of nowhere.
Terrorists and dissidents were quick to succumb to scrying, and then... Mass Chamr spells. They were found, rounded up, and their minds pacified. Telepaths from Al Quadim roamed the streets making sure that no one had any intention of commiting terroist actions. It was not foolproof, but the soldiers were not in immediate danger.

Across the Ouster fleet, action stopped almost instantly.
Guns quieted, and the Ouster vessels turned from the sea of flame and death which had been, only seconds ago, a mighty Covenant fleet. The black ships reformed, their carriers pulling behind a wall of strike cruisers, the Fleet's two Cataphracts accelerating out towards the flanks on pillars of pale fusion plasma.
Radio signals reached out to the Jardanian vessels. A voice spoke in stilted Terran english-
<< Acknowledged. Inform your allies we are now ready to collect on out part o the bargain.>>

Republican Marines also roamed the streets, both in LRVs and on foot in full battle armor. [OOC: If you've seen the Halo 2 E3 trailer, think the armor that the Marines in Master Chief's Pelican were wearing, full face helmet and such.] The mages' efforts worked well, although some of the troops weren't comfortable with such removals of free will. Then again, most supposed, it was better than having to gun down an insurrection. Many of the troops were Christian and weren't comfortable at all with either side; the zealots took things too far in their eyes and the mages could be brutal at suppression when some were too strong-willed to be enchanted into submission. Only one airstrike had to be called in the entire first week of occupation.
Presidential Press Room, Nashtar
"The Republic of Nashtar is not interested in empire. We will withdraw our troops and ships as soon as it is expedient to do so. That is all." President Major walked out of the room, ignoring shouted questions from the reporters. There would be time for questions later, but now he had a grand mopping up to deal with and a destroyer to dispatch to that dead system with the signals... That had been appended to the end of the latest report, but he'd taken note of it, having been in the exploration corps before retiring and deciding to take up a career in statecraft. He decided to send a light carrier and two frigates with the ship from the Astrological Survey. Enough force to cover an escape should it be needed, but not enough to be crippling to his defenses should a world be attacked while they were away.

A mage walked up to a commander who was rather.. unnerved by the mass charm spells.
"we really dont like having to do this. But it is better to stifle their fanaticism than have to kill snipers and terrorist bombers. We can be brutal, and while we do not like such tactics, it is better than bloodshed... The death toll on both sides of this battle can be mesaured in the low double digits..."

"We realize that, sir. Its certainly better than what we could do; our best methods involve diplomacy with these as the only backup plan," he said, hefting his assault rifle. "Is this one of the worlds that the Ousters want to claim? And do you know what they intend to do to the current inhabitants of the worlds they're colonizing?"

The captain was pleased, the aliens must have had superior communication equipment or the Warm Greetings was just that good at translating. A very crisp hologram stood in the center of the command center, above the hologram projector.
The alien spoke his peace, the translation was nearly flawless, there was just one word it couldn't translate, "mage". It was no matter, the message got across.
The captain approached the image of the tall looking alien and addressed it, “Greetings! This is Ship Commander Ahnab, speaking on behalf of Megaron Industries. Your presence is requested on the space station orbiting the planet. More will be explained there, we are very pleased to meet you. At your convenience, please transmit any communication protocols your ship uses to the cargo ship orbiting nearby.
The Warm Greetings began transmitting important communication protocols in every direction on almost every channel it could with the hopes that the small alien ship would get the message and do the same; her goal was to aid in communications, thus far it had been served its purpose.
In the meantime, docking rings extended from a number of points on the small space station, they would accept nearly every size. The station wasn’t very big, it held a number of fusion reactors, a large communications array, a conference room designed to seat twenty and a hologallery, which Megaron Industries planned on using as a showroom for their vast collection of goods and services which their company offered, it had no shields, it couldn't even maintain its orbit without help from shuttles which had build it.
The Baeloarens had no idea of the events unfolding further in the galaxy, it had been nearly two weeks since Megaron Industries had begun its new business venture, the only other people who knew where officials from the Order Secret Police, the Homeworld Senate, and the crew of the Commonwealth Ship of the Line Infallible. The Order Police had been aware of Megaron Industrie's plot to undermine the authority of the Homeworld Senate and quickly convinced the senate to order the Infallible to the Ursa Delta Prime system with a group of diplomats to clean up the mess Megaron Industries was certain to make.

" I will be able to teleport over immediatly, no need to dock. Though, we dont really have the ability to communicate via standard format. Our Diviners can recieve and translate, but to reply we have to send an illusion."
He vanished, and appeared in the conference room when everyone had arrived there
"Hello." he seemed to say in their language.
"I can do this thanks to a spell we like to call 'tongues'. It allows instant translation and understanding of any language. I am pleased to meet you in person."

Fast Destroyer Oenone
<<They sent out communications protocols, Sir>> his communication officer 'vised.
<<It seems they are friendly enough...>> Captain Althathtcha said. <<We can reveal ourselves I think.>>
<<Consensus agrees,>> the ethereal voice came over Datanet.
The Fast Destroyer suddenly dropped its stealth, and a com channel was opened and a hologram of the captain was transmitted. As all Gladsheim people he was tall, and unbelievably beautiful, looking like he was barely 20 years old.
"This is Captain Taradan Althathtcha of the Fast Destroyer HIMS Oenone of the Grand Empire of Gladsheim. We have received your signals and are interested in meeting you. Althathtcha out."
The Oenone ramped up speed, and raced inward with all her incredble drive power, her course set on the station.

The Jardanian crusers pulled between the Outsider fleet and the ringworld.

The Ouster vessels began to move, spreading out, breaking formation and coalescing into their individual squadrons. Roughly half of the strike cruisers suddenly leapt to Kincaid drive, and began buzzing around the Jardanian cruisers at FTL speeds, dipping in and out of energy weapon range. The fleet's carriers began accelerating away from the ringworld, their fighters docking.

"You heard the man, do it."
The few outsider ships that were inside energy weapons range where pulzeried by lasers and plasma lances, those that were outside were in the path of a large missle barrage.
++Bear in mind, most of my fleet is here, so unless your doing the same your a bit outgunned++

The Ouster cruisers immediatly turned and ran. Already under Kincaid drive, they had been neigh impossible targets for the enemy missiles, and they had not remained in energy range long enough for more than a few shots to land.
The fleet's carriers and heavy vessels had already been running from the Ringworld, and now, they too lept to FTL speeds.

Upon getting transmission from FLEET, all Jardanian worlds when into heavy defense mode.
