We also have a shielding system that is designed to provide a strong defense against enemy fire for short periods of time. This differs from our military grade shielding which is designed for better protection against prolonged exposure to enemy fire. Ships with sufficient power plant output can support both shielding systems.
We could develop a shielding system that combines both elements into one shielding system.

We would also be willing to invest in these ships further by donating our gravitic propulsion systems.

We too have alwas supported the ITA, our ships where the first to patrol the spacelanes, and we will always continue our support of free trade.

I am going to assume that you do not actually intend to follow through with that offer. The only situation in which I am prepared to allow a full pardon to these criminals would be if they play a key role in an operation to nullify at least 80 of their peers. Allowing the annihilation of a pirate base would be an example of a pardonable act.

If they just turn themselves in I might consider a reduced sentence, but that is all.

The reconstruction of the ITASF is well underway. I am very pleased that we've been able to keep the peace. Our markets continue to encounter unprecidented levels of growth as we enter a new age of peace and prosperity.

Now, it is time for us to press forward. I am submitting a budget proposal that sets aside a significant portion of the ITA annual budget for promoting the innumerable multinational businesses trading within the members of the ITA. With full representation across not just the ITA members but across the full international market their products and services will reach virtually limitless markets. It is time that the ITA took on more responsibilities. Our mission is to ensure the flow of free trade. This is not a mission that needs to be bound by our national borders. Members of the ITA, let us open our business to foreign markets and let us open our markets to foreign business. It is time for us to step up and protect freedom of trade for the rest of the known universe.

Proposal:

Allocate 30% of ITA budget to promotion in foreign markets.

Awaiting seconding

As mentioned in the communication following that statement, I will allow the proposition to pass.

Excellent. An expeditionary force of 10 Battleships, 15 Cruisers, 40 frigates, and 300 FTL capable fighters has been formed, and is orbiting over Siberia in anticipation of your departure orders.

The general watched as the engineer explained how the new shield worked.

"We upgraded the power source so it can take twice as large hits now and expand over twice the area at the same time. Also we finally put that stealth system through the test, and it works beutifully. No earth-bound sensor packet can detect the shield now."

This was the pinnacle of ground shielding the General thought, this would remove the threat posed by any space borne enemy, and would help to keep nuclear genocide from happening again.

"How soon can we get this line out into the field, and for how much?"
"We can start production on whole new units immeadietly for one thousand five hundred a unit, and we can send out the stealth upgrade packs to existing late model shields, at the cost of five hundred a pack."

This also astounded the general, twice as cheap as it was expected to be! And if the production rates were anywhere near what the current models were they could have each company equipped with an entirely new shield in half a year.

"Good, start production on both immeadietly. The check will come soon"

And with that, the general walked out of the test bay.

All of the UPK's corporations already spend a signifcant amount on foreign advertising and promotion. If it were to be made a government expenditure, we would tax the difference, and it would just be an unnecessary pain. Therefore, I vote nay.

To:NBA Trade Bureau
From:Skaven Ministry of Trade

We have a proposal that promises to greatly benefit all NBA members by reducing the costs of trading. The Skaven warp gate system allows goods to be shipped quickly and easily even across great distances. With your blessing we will construct a network of gates connecting all major NBA possessions within the Sol system. Such will encourage trading ties between NBA members and facilitate development of insystem colonies. Because you are our allies, we are willing to install the system at cost.

The beauty of the way the ITA is currently structured is that we can now offer companies a unified foreign promotional package rather then one for each company as it is done at the moment. Ergo the same result is achieved but at a much lower overall cost that these companies would either have to absorb themselves or pass on to their respective consumers.

We intend to use systems already developed. Prototype technology often proves difficult, expensive, and less than fully reliable.

If you could send the specifications and details on it we would appreciate it. We are concerned about reliability and cost issues however.

A laudable goal.

If we can get it working...we would consider sending you the readouts. Currently however, we are having problems with power allocation and generator burnouts.

ATTN: Interested Powers
FROM: Zarathrustran Armorworks
SUBJ: New Weaponry

WWe, the freemen/lovebound of the Zarathrustran Armorworks Independant Corporation, have produced a new superconducting material, for usage in electromagnetic propulsion weaponry. This advanced ceramic will allow shipmounted mass drivers to fire more rapidly, and be built smaller. the same technology can be used to increase the propogation speed of particle beam cannon.

This new ceramic has already been sold to the Zarathrustran Navvy andd the United Republican Navy, and our customers have displayed a great deal of satisfaction with the design.

We are now selling this design on the open market, to any buyer. Users of railguns and particle beam cannon galaxywide should rejoice!

Could we be sent specifications? The L-series though would probably be the best possible choice.

The going price for the technique of manufacture is 1 billion Zarathrustran, and 1 million per ton if you jusst want to buy the ceramic straight, but my friends in the URN tell me they will give you fellas the technology for free. I'd mind loosing the business, but I have family in the Durandel System, in the Mephiston Cluster, out in the Oort cloud, an they tell me you fellas treat Floaters right.

Contact the Navy, they'll get some prototypes over to you, and help you start implementing it in your designs.

Certainly.

*attached is list of technical specifications for the three shielding series'*

Of particular note is that the T-series has an energy absorbsion ratio of about 30% greater then the average for all shielding systems (by size class) before collapsing, and is also extremely resistant to Kinetic and projectile weapons. It is however very energy hungry demanding 35% of total power output from a single reactor. Ships using T series Aktaeon shielding tend to be the larger military warships such as the Minmatar Headway class Battleships that have multiple reactors.

The W series are much less hungry and only require around 5% reactor output. With more power available to engines, ships using W series shielding tend to be faster, but the protection offered from energy weapons is about 20% lower then the galactic average. Protection from incoming projectiles is also very limited.

The L series is probably the most well rounded of all shielding systems. Provides protection on par with the galactic average by ship size and requires an energy output of around 10 to 15% from a single reactor. One thing that is impressive is that the L series is about 10% more effective at blocking projectiles then most average shielding systems. While not as high as the T series, the L series is also less expensive.
