It's been more or less known for a long time now, even without the trailer. The old Brawl site used to say that Samus would become ZSS "under certain conditions," but a number of people still felt they would be seperate due to "ambiguous wording."Elite Pwnage wrote:I always thought that Samus and Zero Suit Samus were going to be 2 seperate characters. This update shouldn't have come at me as a suprised seeming that it was a given in the first trailer.

I really hope that ZS Samus is still selectable, because it's basically wasting a character to have her only playable after a Final Smash.
And every screenshot of the FE Castle seems to make it more apparent that the level's just a single platform with two smaller ones above it. How does it look like it's going to be different than the ones shown?

It kinda makes her unique though(for now, at least). Using her Final Smash isn't something that can be done on a lark, so to speak, because doing it causes a major change in her abilities. I would guess faster with a longer reach due to the Paralyzer's whip mode, but lighter and takes more damage.
Speaking of which, we can all guess what today's update is...

I, too, was hoping for Zero Suit Samus to be individually selectable. Of course, the change is certainly interesting, as it's apparently not reversible (perhaps short of getting K.O.'d) like Zelda's transformation in Melee was.
If you can't change except for getting that item, then I could see that being a bit frustrating.
I hope that ZSS will be an unlockable character that doesn't have a Final Smash. All the screenshots of ZSS can't just be eye candy, can they?

This is really odd:

It look like its the opening cinematic, much like Melee one implied that it was trophies fighting, only this time it looks like there is more at work than just Master Hand pitting his toys against each other.

I preferred the old plot, it made the most sense to me.Anarchist Bunny wrote:It look like its the opening cinematic, much like Melee one implied that it was trophies fighting, only this time it looks like there is more at work than just Master Hand pitting his toys against each other.
Anyway, it seems from the update that Metaknight is involved in "breaking the rules," somehow. Metaknight's described in the Kirby games as being a very chivalrous individual, maybe he's attempting to break the cycle of fighting and the robot thing is trying to stop Metaknight?
Lord, that sounded lame.
Either way, the robot should be placed with R.O.B.
Or the Game Boy Camera.
But only if it's a red one.

No, I haven't thank you for pointing that out to me. (I hope you caught the sarcasm)

Get some
Update: Finally a new non flat stage.
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/index.htmlRumble Falls
This stage is based on the look and feel of Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat, which was played using the DK Bongos.
The key here is to keep climbing up and up.

The tropical setting is quite nice.
The screen slowly scrolls upwards, so if you don’t want to get left behind you’d better get climbing. Oh, and don’t forget to pummel your opponents along the way!
screenshot
You’re climbing up, but the water keeps flowing
down, down, down.
The screen’s constantly changing, so it’s fun just to watch too.

The top of the waterfall isn’t the top! Keep climbing!
Hey! What’s at the top? Huh?
Hmm...I wonder...

First off, that wasn't a sarcastic comment. Second, your comment was, in principle at least, perfectly valid, as was my reply. You didn't need to save face at all; if you weren't such an insipid lamer, you might have realised that. Who the hell do you think I am?Elite Pwnage wrote: I see you didn't catch the sarcasm.
I think that's a safe bet. It's also pretty cool - it's like a goal to reach, and I like that sort of thing.I'm not sure, but I think that at the top, they hop on that plane and travel to those vine-held platforms in the background.
What is Project Zohar?

Oh what. Bringing back probably the most universally reviled stage (if "universally" means "me and those who play with me") of Melee, and only showing Battlefield clones? Damnit Sakurai, I want my Hyrule Temple!
But wait. You only announced one stage per franchise. Oh ho ho. I'm on to your tricks.

On the plus side, Rumble Falls only goes upwards, and it sounds as if it's a steady rate, rather than the crazy swings the Ice Climbers stage went through. That makes this sound a lot more playable than its Melee counterpart. Kind of like a vertical Poké Floats.
And what do people think those dome-like buttons are in the first and second images? I'm hoping they either change parts of the level or are springy pads so that the characters with less vertical abilities, like Bowser, can still climb at a decent rate.
