Having stopped at a barn, I scope out our car's occupants
Image

Looting a supermarket. Invisible helmet for the NVG mount!
Image

Shotgun mounted flashlight renders my NVGs superfluous
Image

I might have ruined a wheel on my bike and we might have needed to stop to allow me to repair it
Image

We take stock before raiding Berezino at 3 in the morning
Image

I provide overwatch while the others look for vehicle parts in the industrial areas. Note my zombie kill count.
Image

Whoops. Alyeska asks me to come over and help loot, but I meet a zombie in the stairwell. Cue horde.
Image

Forty zombies later: we head further into Berezino, aiming to loot the military tents and hospital.

Some more silenced Bizon action as we loot the hospital. Between our vehicles and packs: 20+ morphine, 15+ blood bags.
Image

My current gear
Image

I watch on in amusement as Alyeska and co try to fix the ATV he flipped (I did suggest going around in the first place)

All is well

Nice! I logged in this morning for the first time since the DDoS and immediately knew something was wrong: I could hear the ocean. The game decided I was no longer near Polana, but down on the coast west of Kamenka. Frak. At least I still had all my gear, including enough food and drink for the run home. And run I did for over an hour. Tedious and boring with one heart-skipping moment. All of a sudden my screen displayed "Survivor (Trakket)" like when you look at someone. I immediately hit the dirt and scanned. The message came up again, though I could not see the actual person, and they were only 65 meters away. I backed away on my belly, then got up and went the long way around the mountain. On my map, he showed as facing away from me. Perhaps AKF, but I doubt he ever knew I was there.

Then I got back to my tent and found that someone had stashed an L85 in there with a bunch of STANAGs. JOY! One of our guys must have found a chopper yesterday. I find it amusing that, minus the SUSAT, the ingame L85 has basically the exact configuration I use for airsoft.

Alyeska, it sounds like our guys are down for a joint run. We should try to firm up some details via PM.

M9SD is my jam.

As someone who primarily solos and stealths at night, being able to completely silently put down zeds is a godsend.

Our camp got raided. Bus was missing. ATV was in the act of getting stolen. We wounded the thief who made the mistake of getting off to bandage. Zed got killed but Snowcrasher killed the fucker. So we recovered the ATV. I was making a run to pick up Zed while Hillbilly protected the corpse. Then Hillbilly got killed.

So our camp got raided, we lost a vehicle, and two died.

Losses are moderate. Bizon SD, M24, Range Finder, and Coyote Backpack. Zed had NVGs but those got recovered.

The tents have expendables. We might have been able to save the ATV and Motorcycle.

Tents were not found. Bus and Car got stolen. Through sheer stupid luck our motorcycle found the damn car and bus. We recovered the car.

We lost a Bizon SD (we have a 2nd that wasn't taken). We lost a M24, Coyote Backpack, and Rangefinders.

Then we found a crash site and found a 2nd L85A2, and got a SAW.

I read that story, and boy does it mirror the behavior of some people and groups throughout history - when scared and alone and constantly threatened, trading freedom for security seems like an ok proposal to some. Especially when your master is fair.

Reckon, our group would love to have a joint raid over the weekend. Due to current issues with our vehicles. We will have little to no vehicle support. We will have to raid by foot and what we can carry.

I am thinking a raid time for 4pm mountain time. We can start gathering people at 3pm. This is for Saturday. This time allows our British and Australlian players to both be online when we attempt the raid.

If you still have the Teamspeak info, feel free to join so we can figure the details.

There is no 'c' in my name.

Sounds good. We have been doing some supply runs in preparation, and it is not terribly far on foot. I will hop on TS tonight to hash things out.

Auto spell check correct changed your name and I didn't notice .

Our group totals 10 people. More likely 6 for the raid. I'm hoping we can provide 3 snipers/spotters. Does your group also have the L85A2 AWS?

Ah autocorrect, my callsign's mortal enemy.

I think we have 8 playing, maybe 4-5 for the raid. Who knows. One of our guys found an L85A2 AWS yesterday; mine is the SUSAT. I forgot to ask, will this be a night raid? I do not think we have any NVGs.

Our original plan wa for night. But after a 4 man raid on NW Airfield last night with only one NVG, I'm going to have to side with day time raid. More visible, but we can be in and out quickly.

That L85 Susat is a hacked weapon. It's real in ArmA 2, but not part of DayZ. Since you didn't bring it in the game I think you are safe from a ban, but it might disappear on you.

I happen to have a M16A2 ACOG that you can trade out for if the L85 disappears.

Great. I noted that only the AWS was listed in the DayZ wiki, but thought it might just be incomplete.

The Loot table gets updated direct from the .pbo in each mod release. If it's not in there, it's not legit.

In response to the recent raids against our camp, we have figured out a new place to locate our camp and vehicles. Cherno Docks. No one ever checks that spot.

Decent raids tonight. A team mate got killed by zombies on the NW runway. Ouch. So we got him setup with an Alice. But never did find better than a Winchester. After those two logged off Zed came on and he stumbled across two chopper crash sites. Found half a dozen FN FALs and four M14 AIMs. Then he found the FN-FAL ANPV. But he was stuck with a patrol pack. So I hoofed it up there and loaded the FAL into my pack. Then we server hopped and headed towards Bereznio where we found two more choppers. Both completely looted, so nothing of value. Got to Bereznio and found tons of food in one market and so we both got back up on health. Hit the second market where we found an Alice for Zed, then we found two tents for our new Cherno Docks camp site. Not bad. Zed took the FAL into his pack because he will see its new owner before I will.

Then we murdered a cow and had some t-bone steak before logging off.

And our car blew up today. Hillbilly and Cirello were moving it to our new camp when they clipped a wrecked Humvee. The engine was already very very red. Well, the car exploded and ejected its occupants. Hillbilly died instantly. Cirello died in the fire moments later.

Zed and I managed to get to to the crash site. The car was a total wreck. But we recovered loot off the bodies including the M249. But when we got back to camp and picked up Hillbilly the M249 disappeared. Shit.

We succesfully move the camp. Hammering tent spikes into the Cherno Docks concrete is hard. Only 20 zombies watched us. We spent the next several hours ferrying gear from the old camp to the new camp. Both of our new tents are VERY full. As in they cannot take any more items, at all.

Oh, and the excitement of the night. Zed and I are moving down the road when he shouts "There's a fucking ATV ahead of us". Sure enough, about 200 meters ahead is another ATV driving the coast road. We decide we don't want to try and kill him and instead pull off and get away.

Today we learned it was possible to get Telefraged. Through sheer dumb luck, bad luck. I had parked the ATV in a set of trees. Then a friend spawns in. And I hear this.

*bone cracks*
*character screams*
"Fuck, I just spawned in with a broken leg and I'm bleeding to death while unconscious."

He spawned prone under the very ATV I had parked in the trees. We server hopped and I managed to patch him up. But we couldn't stop laughing that this happened.
