Right...*smacks his elder with a few Lightning Bolts* I may be a youngin', but I've got plenty of the old goodies.

Anyone remember Lim-Dul's Paladin?

*prevents the lightning bolt damage with forcefield*

*drops a chaos orb on you* ....

not enough old goodies ... ;)
You still take one damage. You need a Shield of the Ages and two mana to prevent all the damage from the Bolt.

I'm not that old a player (Chronicles/Ice Age/4th Edition), but I remember TGOD, before each new set was just an excuse to make everything more powerful and force people to buy new cards in order to compete. I still use Witch Hunters and the Hand of Justice.

Okay, but how?

Hand of Justice + Icatian Town = Merry Christmas!

This is one of the great arguments for MTG Online or Apprentice. You see, here I am up in Ottawa, clearly convinced I could turn the lot of your decks into Cardboard Sushi under the might of my old-fogie strategic gaming mind, and I couldn't get close enough to play an actual game without the benefit of high powered telescopes or satellite relay video. :)
Note: I'm semi-retired from the board, so if you need something, please be patient.

Did you never learn how to play Magic over the net via mIRC, ICQ, or AIM?

I'll look it over, but I far prefer holding my cards in my hands, not looking over badly digitized cards on my monitor.

I use to play over the phone, and I'm guessing it works the same way, but with apprentance it's a lot easier to keep track of things, I've lost games because I couldn't see all my opponents lands and he forgot about my psychic venom.(it didn't kill him, but it brought him into killing range of my pingers). But hell I'm bored and all up for it, my AIM is yunnb tsihcrana .

When I lay a creature down, I give a brief description of what it is: "Zephir Falcon 1/1 Flying, Does not Tap to Attack".
Then, when I attack, I type something like : "Attacking with Serra Angel (Does not Tap)"
As I'm wrapping up, I sum up what I see in front of me: "2 Islands untapped, Serra Angel untapped, Zephir Falcon SumSick."

Yeah, it's annoying to be reminded like that, but it helps both sides recall what's out there. And anyone that doesn't get a chill hearing "2 Islands Untapped" hasn't played enough Blue Decks.

It sounds intriguing. We should set something up over ICQ or AIM.

*laugh* I was playing Magic - well, probably before those things existed. And no, I haven't. Should learn, but haven't. I suppose it would be easy over MSN or somesuch provided I had my Apprentice open to keep track of everything, and so forth.

Nah. Hand of Justice + Field of Souls + Ebon Praetor + Gravebane Zombie. The infinite weenie horde/infinite deck combo.

And I killed my friend today by using a Time Stretch/Mirari combo. For 13 mana I get to take 4 free turns.

Gentlemen...

Anyone wishing to challenge me to Type-1 duels may PM me anytime I am online. We can then decide which to use, ICQ or AIM.

I am limited to Type-1 duels, since I've not been keeping up with the newer card sets. :)

What is Type-1, I never participated in any tournies, just casual play with my friends and we never put any limit on cards except for the 4 of one kind per deck.

IIRC, Type 1 is Cards from ANY set, no banned list, but a list of cards that are limited to 1 per deck.

Can anyone verify this, as my information is prolly years out of date :)

Today's Battle: Anarchrist Bunny v/s myself.

His deck: pure White Rebels/Cleric with First Strike deck.

My deck: '80%', White/Blue Falcon/Counter deck.

Well... considering that I drew only 3 blue cards the entire first round and was stuck in a mana rut, I surrendered.

He was getting out strong creatures and life cards, and had me down to one critter.

Final Life Tally: me 17, ACB 47.
