Well, a few come to mind............

A Sybil would work, as "Cat" is considered a base class (funny little quirk in the rules there).

There are transformation magiks (listed in Savage Species), that allow you to bestow a creature with spell like abilites. It's master could have given it the power to cast "scry" once or twice per day so it could help him with the books.

It could be that the bowl is a magic item, and that the cat only needs to be level 2 to activate it.

etc etc.........

There are a few more. Suffice it to say, I have figured it out, and the cat works under the rules. I WOULD tell you exactly how I did it, but that would ruin the supprise.

Meh, weird is having a DM with a tendancy of just killing characters that have been through quests where they've killed dragons single handidly by having them mugged by goblins. Either that or the ever funny, convenient meteor showers.

Starting with the kingdom your in right now........

Name: Eledon
Goverment: Monarchy
Costal: Land-Locked
Size: Small
Capital: Oblin
Other cities (Major): Kecksburg, Belen, New Kecksburg
Important notes: Very large army (for it's size), Major crossroads
Rivers: Tigres
Western Border: Rashe
Eastern Border: Forbidden Forest
Northern Border: Fallgorn
Southern Border: Narlon
Leader: Ixildor (Ix-el-door) [king]
Leader Alignment: Lawfull Good

History: Up to about 150 years ago, Eledon was a province of Narlon. At the time, Narlon's leaders were far less wise then they are now and suppressed the reagon. Charging absurdly high taxes, and creating laws that descriminated against natives.

Eventually, the people had simply had it, and there was a spontanious revolt. It would have been brutally crushed, however the milltary forces there were mostly drafted conscripts, and the revolt was accompanied by massive defections in the millitary.

What should have been a instantly crushed revolt turned into a war of conquest as the defecting millitary forces turned around and marched back into Narlonien territory. After 20 years of brutal war, Eledon was granted independence.

Economy:
Eledon has very little raw materiels, but rather is located on two massive trade routes, the main North-South road, and the Tigris river. Minor Taxes on these routes, combined with a large number of skilled workers make Eledon one of the richest countries in all of Terra. The income from these taxes also allow it to field an army much larger then normal for Eledon's size.

INFO ON CITIES

Oblin:
The third largest city in the empire and it's capital. Oblin is away from the river and is dominated entirely by the goverment. The city serves two purposes, ruleing the country, and running the army. At first it was little more then a command center, until the first king decided to also train the army battlemage core there. The large number of trained mages there (and the magic items that went along with them), attracted merchants. Once the city had a stable economic base, it seemed a good idea to more more troops in and the process repeated.

Crime is almost non-existant here, due to the fact the goverment is omnipresnet.

Kecksburg and New Kecksburg:
Are almost identical, other then that Kecksburg is on the southern border and New kecksburg on the west. They are both on the Tigris river, and are both major ports. In addittion to the simple act of hauling cargo up and down the river, they are also a major manufacturing point, turning raw materiels into processed goods. They both have a slight problem with organized crime.

Belen:
Is the smallest city in the empire, and assoscated with what little raw materiels Eledon produces. The hills around it are heavly mined, and the fields around it are covered with miles of farmland. The city only exists, because it cheaper to grow food here then it is to haul it from Kecksburg.

You will regret that. Immensely. Sorcerers don't get bonus spells known for a very good reason.

I'm contemplating whether to ask if its too late to join or not. Unfortunately I don't get regular Internet time here at home, but will have loads once I'm back at college. I also can't believe you're rejecting the infinite superiority of 3.5. But I'd deal.

Alyrium, what the heck are you doing that can make druid spells into wizard ones?!?

It is one of my chaacters goals in life. To figure out a way to transcribe divine spells to arcane ones, or at least to make reasonable equivalents. He yses the Society of Atheists prestige class from Quintessential wizard, so he views the actual divinity of the Gds as a crock of shit, and "divine magic" merely as a different type of magical energy. It uses the same components, verbal somatic, they are just arranged differently.

In theory, it shouldnt be that hard(though the spell level would be higher) to creat healing spells on par with their divine counterparts, or even copy things like Bless, and Ressurection.

Though that is up to the DM.

The problem with that is that, unlike in the real world, a god's avatar could come and slap your character for failing to see the obvious fact of his existence, said fact being made obvious by the direct intervention of deities in your average D&D campaign world. :P As for the game mechanics of it, I could go get my DMG (3.0 or 3.5, this part didn't change a bit) and point to the page that says to "Beware the all-powerful hybrid" when messing with spell lists. It really screws with game balance if a wizard can do anything and everything all at once.

Well, I wont be able to do everything :P

I have to research the equivalents myself. And as such, have to pick and choose.

Besides, this isnt a particularly God-active campaign world. ANd he doesnt think they DONT exist, simply that they arent all that special. Merely a group of people that are so powerful that they can act like Gods(does Vecna ring a bell?)

Ok, sorry bout that. I forgot. I'll try to update this country list on a daily basis from now on (until i've done all the countries).

Name: Narlon
Goverment: Monarchy
Costal: Land-Locked
Size: Small
Capital: Unkin
Other cities (Major): Jantar, Morroar
Important notes: In bad economic straits
Rivers: Tigres
Western Border: Rashe
Eastern Border: Forbidden Forest
Northern Border: Eledon/Forbidden Forst
Southern Border: Gilead
Leader: Therora [queen (half-elf)]
Leader Alignment: Netral Good

History: Up to about 180 years ago, Narlon was a thriving empire, the largest in the known world, until mismanagement lead to wars, revolts and economic colapse. The reason for this are not entirely clear, as most of the records were distoryed when Eledon rebels burned the old capital, however the country has never fully recovered.

Economy:
Narlon, like Eledon, is in an ideal position to become a producer of goods. Unlike Eledon, Narlon lacks the stability and efficent goverment needed to make their wares profitable when a much more stable country is just a short sail up the river. They have a severe problem with organized crime, and the theives guild still has massive say in the goverment. The amount of crime has radicly decreased in recent years, around rumers of deals cut between the queen and guildmasters.

INFO ON CITIES

Unkin:
Is a city built onto of the ashes of it's pretcesor, the origional Unkin was burned by angry rebels, and the city had to be rebuilt from scratch. It is the smallest city in the empire, and if not for being the seat of the goverment, it would not be worthy of note.

Jantar:
Is the larget city in Narlon, and has the most healthy economy. Placed on the Tigres river, it's primary service is supplying and maintaing boats, with a dock and shipyard that, while not overly special, are respected for high quality work. Jantar is also host to the Narlon Royal Cartography Institute, which can still boast to have the most accurate maps of the most territory of any known organization world wide.

Morroar:
.....Is run by the crime lords. Assasins and theives guilds own the local goverment, and run the city as they deam fit. Supprisingly, the city is not doing that bad, although it is recovering very slowly. The city's primary export is pottery, from the extensive clay pits found nearby.

ADDITTIONAL: Narlon is on the southern tip of the forbidden forest.

ok, since no one apprantly cares about the countries. I'll be releasing sparks stats instead. Sparks unusial stats and abilities may cause players to question his ligimimacy under the rules, anyone who feels this way just post and I'll do a step-by-step explaination. Short story of where his abilties come from, spark dosn't really qualify to be ANY class, meaning that he has no reason to avoid loosing exp. Thus, perminant exp-draining spells that grant abilites are no problem for him.

Name: Spark
Gender: Male
Race: Awakened-Cat
Alignment: Chaotic Good
STR: 3
DEX: 15
CON: 10
INT: 17
WIS: 12
CHA: 10

Classes: Cat (0-level class), 237reserve exp
Movement: 30ft
AC: 14
HP: 9

Saves:
Fort: +2
Ref: +4
Will: +1

Skills: (innate)
Balence +10
Climb +5
Hide +9 (+17 in tall grass)
Listen +4
Move Silently +9
Spot +4

Skills: (learned)
Knowledge Arcana: 4 ranks
Scry: 8 ranks

Spell-Like-Abilites:
Locate Object 1/day
Clairvoyance 1/day
Scrying 1/day
Sending 1/day

Equipment: None

Appearence:
Look like a fairly normal simease cat. White fur, practicly solid black tail, head, and paws. It's when he starts talking that things get weird.
