I keep blowing up my own Marines with plasma grenades by accident (in Halo 1, PC). Mind you, they're claustrophobic - every time I enter a structure, they stand outside on guard. The Silent Cartographer level, for example - I took a Warthog down the tunnels as far as I could (till you get to the locked door), and he just waited on the turret till I got back. Echo 4-19 left him behind, though :)

I pinched one Marine's sniper rifle in Halo 2 (just after you kill the Hunters in the courtyard), and he took my Needler in exchange. I nearly shot him about 3 times, because I thought it was a Grunt sneaking up on me. He held onto that thing throughout the level, though.
"So you want to live on a planet?"
"No. I think I'd find it a bit small and wierd."
"Aren't they dangerous? Don't they get hit by stuff?"

I'm pretty sure that in the books they mention adding a gel-layer to the Marines' body armor at some point, to disperse heat from the plasma. Since, obviously, it worked so well on the MJOLNIR equipment and was a good idea in the first place.
Probably.

Certainly needed to.

Course hearing that Elites are same health as enemy versions on Legendary makes me wonder how fast does the final fight go down.

Councillor elites survive one, maybe two hits from the gravity hammer. They still can't hurt him unless his shield is down, and he still smacks them around like toys. Mostly, I just used them to kill the Brutes that would jump onto the level every now and then. Took me about an hour to finally kill the bastard, though.

Ouch. But he was a bitch with that shield...course it was funny playing Boss battles in Halo.

Just run around the area in front of Sarge. His 3 rifle shots brings down Tartarus' shields for a few secs. It took me quite a while to put enough beating into him. Either that, or I had one hell of a lucky shot to the head.

Cool tactic.

Sadly on Normal...I know I didn't do shit to him, and then suddenly I was watching the ending.

At least on Heroic...I had to fight him.

There is apparently a glitch that involves the plasma sword. Johnson needs to bring Tartarus' shield down while the brute is focused on an elite. When the shield goes down, you have to slash him repeatedly. I have huge doubts about this, but it allegedly kills him in 30 seconds (whether your ammo [or you] would last that long is debatable).

The glitch is that while you're attacking him, Tartarus keeps going through the "being hit" animation and can't fight back.

I actually tried doing that ( on Legendary). All I ended up with is a hammer on my head.

Okay, I beat it on Normal. I have no idea what to say. From one stand point that sucks. Then again that's totally fucking awesome. Luckily that was only about 20% why I got the game. So no biggie. Still kicks ass though.

I am told that the third and final act (i.e. the actual ending) was cut for the game to make the November 9 release date.

There there my sugar laden Chardock...go back to the pixie sticks and Halo goodness.

As for a real ending...eh. We'll see it in Halo 3...where in likely we'll be MC to finally destroy the last Prophet and whatever uber thing the Flood brings up.

Look at it from my perspective... after kicking ass on the Covenant ship, the vast majority of the MC part of Halo 3 will take place on Earth. 8)

I was thinking that the humans could, at a very high price, destroy the covenant and The Flood in a single stroke.

Simpy tell the MC to abort his mission and have all slipsteam capable craft to make the jump to the location of the destroyed Halo 04 installation.

Since Halo 4 is no longer capable of participating on the Halo network, there should be a safe zone of area around it.

There are also huge chunks of Halo still floating around. If by some chance there is still atmosphere, or if not, they can make sections capable of supporting life. Remember there are huge networks of tunnels and other underground places.

But what would stop the Covenant or Flood from following them?

Edit: Would it be possible to figure out the most efficient placement for the rings, considering that the Milky Way is about 100,000 ly across, and each ring has a range of 25,000 ly?

Apparently, even without Installation 04 the Halo network is capable of wiping out all life within three radii of the galactic centre

The forerunners were not fucking about when they built those things.

Wow then what we need is a Halo game for every Halo installation and in every installation we need a healthy dose of the Flood because we all know how much players like fighting the flood

Well it gives them alot of room to make sequals. After all the game is named Halo. There is a ton of stuff that they have to sort through now

Shad-ap. Lucky shot, thats all it was. Fucking hell, I took your flag, killed two of your members in the prosses and missed dying just to have the whole team wiped out by a lucky fucking shot........Utter bull shit. Your gunna get yours though, your gunna get it.

And the dual weapons, your combo is really good. Lays them out fairly quickly. And, I do like having two Magnums, although they seem to run out very quickly. But I think the best is plasma rifle and SMG. Rips through the shields and hits the tender flesh.
