Arcane jamming is ment to confuse the gunners and mess with computer systems. It isnt as bad a double edged sword as you may think. but then again.. it was still heavy jamming

Aly, just reading the posts, and I swear you need to give yourself some more casualties here. I mean, just look at what is going on. You have maybe... what, 1/3 of your fleet? 1/4? Laz's whole fleet is here. You win this, hands down. But with everything that Laz is throwing at you, just dropping a few escorts will not be enough. I am not accusing you of anything, I am just reminding you of exactly what you are seeing here so that when it comes time to post final losses your estimates are realistic. Just cuz Laz isnt here doesnt mean his ships are powerless.

And to Marcao, I thoroughly enjoyed reading your battle posts with the Krynor fleet. I think everyone should attack the Veithans just so we can see some more of that brilliant writing.

Bugsby I doubt you can infer from my post that the Protector is all the worried, same for the Arcanes.

I agree with Bugsby Alyrium. At first, I had no trouble with your casualty counts until I took a step back and got thinking about it. Your casualties are way too small considering the following.

1. The Krynnor are understandably pissed of at you and are throwing everything they have at you.
2. The Krynnor have more or less their entire fleet in the engagement and are targetting your escorts over everything else. That is 19 super capital ships, not withstanding cruiser and escorts. I have not even glared at your cap ships, I expect your escorts to be dropping like flies under RAID.
3. I just rammed three dozen or so troop transports into your comperatively tiny escorts. Their size does not give support to having high endurance, especially once their shields are down.
4. I think we all know that the Krynnor are hosed, but I expect that their last stand will be signifcant. Especially before your allies start tearing into them. The Krynnor fleet will not last much longer, not with the U.P and the Nashtar in the mix but I expect that your escort force will be hosed after this. Anything less, and I will be thoroughly disappointed. I don't call damage, but I expect my partners to be reasonable.

I look forward to continuing things tomorrow. I can go to sleep now.

:D

I'm going to interpose a couple battleships between the Arcanists and Krynnor next thing. Those things are designed to take one hell of a beating.

Rogue 9, there's a post on the top of page 56 of the game thread directed to your president, I don't know if you didn't see, or are waiting until after the battle ends; either way, just wanted to make sure you didn't miss it.

and of the nineteen mother ships none survived, although half of the vessels did not break apart entirely becoming twisted hulks drifting lifeless in space.
There are no longer 19 capital ships, there are now none. Aly's causality count should be a bit higher however...

My third fleet is in the Camaro system, with the Second fleet coming in fast.

OOBs for the two fleets have already been posted elsewhere in the game thread (Third fleet during the war with the Covenant, second during the opening stages of the Goa'uld war)

Well look at it this way, you are concentrating on my escorts, they are a but harder to hit at 30 meters than a frigate for example.

and the battle has been going on for all of.. what 5 min

40-45 strike craft(~half of what I had there)
30 destroyers(a little under half)
and because he wasnt concentrating on them... 1 frigate. just for good measure.
And of course hundreds of fighters are probably gone.

Half of thiose ships are under the protection of a prismatic sphere and are out of commission, and will be for about an in-game month for repairs.

According to Laz's OOB those count as cruisers actually.

thank you!

In every STGOD I have ever been in, I have been cheated out of combat by literally not being at my computer to post.

Interdictors

Post by Marcao »

A slight problem has arisen and I want to air it out in the OOC thread. The problem is that of interdiction. As far as I understand it, while the technology exists it must be used in a specialized vessel. The Krynnor fleet for example had 4 declared "interdictor" ships in its OOB. These were dedicated interdictor platforms as far as I can see. At the moment however, the Arcane Empire apparently has interdictor capabilities on their dreadnoughts. This is not a capability that is supported by the Arcane OOB but Alyrium assures me that he has used the ability in the past. As such, I have to ask for guidance with the situation.
