The Arbites had their shotguns, shock mauls, bolt pistols, and supressor shields. Gix and Hethor had plasma weaponry and powerswords. Gix's arsenal was further augmented by his deadly psychicly charged force rod. They went to work.

The Psyker's mental shield held up for all of 2.867301 seconds.

Further down the tunnel, blood was leaking from Saryth Forson's eyes in torrents as he lay on the ground, twitching.

You said you wouldn't fail, Saryth. Now you pay the price for your arrogance.

Forson screamed as his mind was ripped apart, the shredded remnants tossed into the Warp and devoured by hungry Daemons.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Gix was the first to sense it; The point man was the first to be rent in two by a sizzling blade made out of green fire. Forson's body was under the PsyKing's direct control, eldritch energies dancing between his fingers.

Plasma washed from Hethor's gun. Shotguns fired bursts at the possessed body. And a blast of psychic force from Jolan Gix tore at any defenses tht might be guarding it.

The first cultist exploded as the bolt imbedded it's self in it's body and exploded rupturing organs, and spraying bone and bit's everywhere. More annoying to the cultists and to the inquisitor was the feeling as if a hundred thousand voices were at once singing a litiny and the corous was lead by a voice of thunder.

the cultists sceamed, as a scout trooper approched

"Call us LEGION, for we are many!"

Meanwhile the sister finished with her schedual and rutine and prepared to fight. All her life was rutine, it was the only thing she knew, her whole life was centered around the battles to come. for her small size the bolter was much too big for her, Her new cloak hid her features and much of her armour well.

in what was left of his memories they rocognized the enemy, and part of him recognized the ally. The Legion's chapter was descended from the gene-seed of the blood angels. the taint manifested it's self differently from the black rage, instead, it was the loss of self, becoming a symphony in his name, with the voice of Sanguinus conducting the whole affair. there was no self, there was only reflex, and war.

The possessed body exploded in a shower of Warp Energies, killing another dozen Arbites.
The Psyking recoiled. Too much, too much.
He opened a channel to his Techpriests. "Activate it now."
"But sir, 50% of our forces are still-"
"NOW. We don't have time."
"Yes, m'lord."

The ground began to shake underneath Jolan Gix...

Damn that was nasty, thought Gix. Another dozen Arbites dead or too wounded to fight. He still had the majority of his fighting force, but he couldn't sustain loses like that indefinitely. And now the ground was shaking. What horror was the PsyKing preparing to unleash now?

"Drive coils online, Lord Captain. We are experiencing some difficulty in freeing ourself from the docking-structure."
Lord Captain Zyphyr Hectate stroked his command console. "Activate the main weapons batteries. Let's see what we can do."
-----------------------------------------------------------
There was a gigantic explosion which threw Gix and co. to the floor. Plaster fell from the ceiling and it got unbearably hot.

Gix scrambled to hit feet and through a psychic shroud around his men, which would hopefully hinder targeting. "Move, move, move!" he screamed. They had to get out of the killzone before whatever it was fired again.

Explosions rocked the Underhive again and again; Millenia-old rebar and concrete instantly liquidifed under the intense heat. The temperature skyrocketed and tunnels melted themselves without being struck by the weapons.

The auspex officer puzzled over the results. It couldn't be right... how could a hive just start to sag in on itself? He called the watch officer, who in turn called Lena, who in turn passed word onto the various inquisitors present on station or at the Wager.

Around the station the general quarters klaxon sounded for what seemed like the hundredth time in the past week as the crew rushed to stations, auspexes focusing on the collapsing hive as the command crew watched in growing horror.

The PsyKing appeared on the edge of Gix's vision as the Inquisitor ran upwards, panting.

"It's quite a wonderful feeling, to have a plan germinate after years of careful cultivation. Torquen had no imagination, you know. 'In the name of the Chaos Gods, crush the lesser races, conquer the galaxy, incredible power, unlimited rice pudding, etcetera, etcetera, ad infinitum.' Well, no matter. You shall all die soon."

Adivan entered the bridge behind him at a slightly slower pace, for once not wearing his armour.

"From what I was told, the Hive that Gix went into is collapsing for now apparent reason."
"The bird let out a slow chicken cackle. It sounded like a chicken, but in her heart she knew it wasn't. In that instant, she completely understood the concept of a chicken that was not a chicken. This looked like a chicken, like most of the Mud People's chickens. But this was no chicken.

"Thank you, Warmaster Adivan. I was looking for specifics." Pater snapped. Just then, there was a massive explosion to port...

The Captain of the Warship The Emperor's Divine Wrath was usually a good, hard-working and God-Fearing man. Which was why it was so odd and unexpected that he had just delivered a full broadside to the sister-ship Sanguinas' Tears.

"Report, Throne of Might. I repeat; Report, Throne."
She turned to Nathan.
"I have no idea."
Someone yelled out: "Spear of Justice is breaking apart!"
"All ships target and destroy The Emperor's Divine Wrath. Open fire!"

Gix hustled as fast as he could. To the PsyKing he spoke. "You really are a fuckup, aren't you? All you're going to do is cause some damage and then lose your ace in the hole. If you had actually waited for a Chaos fleet, then it might have worked. How does the Architect of Fate put up with someone who keeps throwing away useful weapons for minimum gain?"

"Wait for a fleet to arrive so your pretty little Archeotech ships can wipe them from existance? What kind of a fool do you take me for? No, I believe I am killing two Aquilas with one stone. I hope you enjoy your Lava bath."

Overhead, just as the Wrath was blown apart the Might opened up on 'friendly' ships. Whatever was driving the ships to attack each other was spreading.

As he saw a second ship turn on it's fellow, Adivan whispered a curse. Closing his eyes and murmuring a prayer to the Emperor, he stretched out his mind, seeking the cause of this treachery.

In response, Adivan got a vision of the Star Fort's engine room, all the dials redlining.

Gix snarled. "You haven't killed me yet moron. And have you figured out that all that molten rock flows down onto your gun stations? You're going to drown yourself before you succeed. Poor PsyKing. All those powers and so little idea on how to use them correctly. No wonder you gave yourself a grandious name and still ended up the lackey of a renogade inquisitor."

"Getting you angry is quickly turning into a pasttime of mine. Ah well, all good things must come to an end, like the life of your beloved Emperor. Goodbye, Inquisitor. It was nice to string you along."

The gunfire from below abruptly ceased, to be replaced by a dull roar, quickly getting louder.

Adivan frowned. What could that mean? Well, if it has anything to do with events in the Enginarium, at least I have the means to check... A few quick strides took him to the Bridge's Comm section, and he opened a channel to the Stormtroopers Lieutenant currently assigned to guard the area.

"Lieutenant, this is Adivan. Is anything unusual going on in the enginarium?"
