The as-yet-unnamed new Star Wars RTS being developed by Petroglyph?
どうして?お前が夜に自身お触れるから。
Long ago in a distant land, I, Aku, the shape-shifting Master of Darkness, unleashed an unspeakable evil,
but a foolish samurai warrior wielding a magic sword stepped forth to oppose me. Before the final blow
was struck, I tore open a portal in time and flung him into the future, where my evil is law! Now, the fool
seeks to return to the past, and undo the future that is Aku...

Gotta say that the trip through the citadel in "Our benefactors" was fucking sweet. And the uber-gravity gun was good as well.

And yeah, whatever Dr. Breen was talking to...WTF? That thing looked a bit like the back end of a strider to my untrained eye.

Here's an interesting snippet from "Raising the Bar", originally posted by Feath on HL2.net, concerning a cut-scene (mentioned here already) which was removed from the game.

* Eli powers up the slide projector. A white image flashes on the wall of his room, where he has hung a white sheet.

ELI
Let's see now... Where does this start?

The following images appear as he speaks
* Aerial view of Black Mesa
* Inbound train
* Test Chamber

ELI
Black Mesa. Let's not dwell on that. Nobody's blaming you, we all have to accept some responsibility. What matters is what we do next. I'll get to that. After the disaster, well... Let's just say the ripples kept spreading.

The next few scenses have the feel of Norman Rockwell in Hell.
* Headcrabs leaping onto shoppers from supermarket shelves
* Bullsquid chasing a family from a suburban house; pack of houndeyes running down
Elm Street
* Gargantua overturning a tractor as a farmer flees across a Nebraska field
* Ichthyosaur materialising in a public pool; right under a nose pinching kid who just jumped off the high-dive.

ELI
The countryside, the suburbs, all those hard-to-patrol places got pretty much uninhabitable. People started crowding into the cities for protection.

* People clustered at a cyclone fence topped with razor wire, city skyline rising behind them; cops stand tensely on guard towers, lasing away at headcrab zombies outside the perimeter.

ELI

There was an illusion of safety, for a time. And then the citadels appeared. It happened in a split second, all over the world. A chunk would disappear from the center of a city, to be replaced an instant later by one of these headquarters for the Combine. Invasion Central.

* City-center completely erased, buildings sheared off, an enormous pit appearing out of nowhere, and people falling into it
* The same view, with a Citadel towering at the center of all

ELI
Say hello to your new masters.

* Cremators, striders, Combine machines pouring out of the Citadel into the city. Combine dropships tearing through the air.

ELI
Oh, we resisted.

* Tanks, soldiers, a human army advancing on the Citadel
* The same troops reduced to ashes, completely obliterated

ELI
Earth put up a fight that lasted all of seven hours.

* A smouldering Pentagon shaped pile of ashes

ELI

An then one man, who had seized about all the power a man can seize in a crisis, used that power to arrange our surrender.

* The Consul, at the foot of the (something) Tower, wearing a headset Hands raised high to the dropships as he proclaims Earth's surrender.

ELI
They call him the Consul now. It worked out fine for him He speaks for the Combine, he shares in their power. As for the rest of us...

* Views of City 17, citizens slouching along
* Air Exchange belching black fumes
* Drained seabed with beached ships, whale bones

ELI

Well, you've seen the state of things. They're replacing the air with something we can hardly breathe. They're draining the ocean. We don't don't if they're preparing our planet for new residents, or just stripping it of every possible resource. All we know is that we have to stop them. And that's where you come in, Mr Freeman. It's up to you.

* The Projector goes dark
And when I'm sad, you're a clown
And if I get scared, you're always a clown

Man, this game is beyond perfect. Tons of games have you fighting zombies. How many let you slice them in half and set them on fire with oxygen canisters?

My only complaint was that airboat level was fucking long (but finally killing that motherfucking chopper was worth it). A question, can you grab or hit away manhacks when they're attacking with Gravity Gun?

Yes you can. I've done it a few times.

EDIT: Oh yeah, headcrabs are also light enough that you can hit them away with the gravity gun. I don't think you can grab them like you can with the manhacks (and scanners, btw) though.

Come on, you think you can drive to a place in 5 minutes? I liked it a lot, there were some really great puzzles, and plenty of intense action. Fuck the chopper, what about the Combine APCs?

(Same area as the car engie blade that flys off after you start it)

There's back alley near the respawning zombies, go back it and up some stairs into a small control room. There's a lever there to move the gurney.

Probably a bit late since everyone seems to already own the game, but here it is anyway, found it in another forum:

Screenshots from the game, those reflections look kickass.

So, does anyone here know if Valve is still planning to do Team Fortress 2?

Steam has just done form of auto-update and downloaded something. What are the chances that in the future someone could hack Steam or something and get a virus downloaded?

Just bought it. Bastards asked 60€ for it (bronze edition) and there not even a manual in it. Oh but I did get a crappy tshirt (as always extra large= waaaay too big for me). And I just hear that in another shop it was 10€ cheaper :x
This game better be worth it...

It's good enough that I'm considering making a graven image of Gabe Newell.

Right after I finish one of Stravo. :P

Yikes, CS:S looked a lot better in the screenshots. Hopefully there will be a full new version for Source (and some quality HL2 mods in the meantime).

None if they burned in a dedicated hardware upload terminal

Simple enough to do have the update server reject any and all changes except from on network address and have a seperate hard drive check on there to shut it down if it detects any kind of non upload from that computer hard drive changes

Found the thing and finaly into Nova gleefuly setting up turrets as I await the second assult

And one agian cursing the inability to have HL weapon aside from the Crossbow ever hit what your shooting with the first shot

(IE crouch, sit absoutly still for a full miniun and fire at some targets 20 meters away, your first ten bullets will be off and one will randomly hit exactly where your aiming for)

Wow, I hope Valve is actually building up to something interesting in Half-Life 3. Because that ending was just pathetic. I was expecting some kind of huge gun battle and climb up to the top of the citadel, and then some sort of confrontation at the top. I won't spoil it, but the last 2 levels were way to easy, and aside from the uber gravity gun dull.

My theory is that after the "fall" of the city 17 citadel there'll be a big war between combine from other cities and city 17, now under rebel control. This would, of course, put you in Barney's shoes (because I'm sure gordon is off working for G-Man on more profitable ventures).

I can just see it now, the cover?
A bloodstain Gordan stands atop a broken pile of debrie crowbar in hand, Barney stands behind and to the side holding a American esk flag with the Lamada symbol promit, hordes of armed rebels stand behind them and broken Combine bodies at the base of the pile
Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you... Half Life 3- Liberty

*edit well maybe having a Volg hold the flag instead would look better but what to do with Barney?
