No , your vessels are not necessary. Our ships on scene are acting merely to observe, and to keep a watchful eye on what we see as one of the great monuments of mankind. There is no need for any sort of concentrated military force.

Effective immediately all ambassadorial personel are to be evacuated. By force should they attempt to hold you hostage. This is not a war warning but a preventive recall lest they attempt more kidnappings.

Such decisions in any sane goverment are not handled by precinct commanders. No government operates on such a basis. And for that matter you government never so much as asked about him before his demise. Your government has clearly lost touch with reality if you expect a precinct commander to conduct international diplomacy.

And need I remind you, a tattoo is not positive ID.

We regret to inform you that we must side with the Asgard on this issue. That monocoran soldier should have been charged with dessertion, that much is true. But the officers involved also have the right to defend themselves using whatever means necessary from a homicidal maniac.

Self defense is not murder. We will honor our mutual defense treaties if you go to war, but we will not allow our allies to force us into a war to defend an illegal action by your government. The Asgard acted wrongly, but you have acted more so.

We will go into your territory and remove those police officers and return them to their families ourselves if we must. Do not force us to do so.

We ask that our Monacoran allies return the captured soldiers to their home country. Their actions appear to be quite defendable, and taking them into your custody was an unlawful action.

They were not even soldiers but rather police officers who merely did their duty in the matter.

And we thank the Floaters for their actions.

It is the position of the DE that a soldier or civil servant who defends himself should never be prosecuted. Regardless of whether they are our idealogical enemies or not.

As we have made clear before, we will be following all standard legal procedures, including the allowance of bail. If it would make it happier for you though we will be willing to pay the bail of the accused for them, ensuring their release.

The taxi locked it's doors and sped off at high speed into merging traffic. The last thing the passengers saw was the symbol of the Cult's judgement as their vehicle slammed into the traffic barrier.

In other news today 2 members of the "Blackforrest group" were killed in random traffic accidents this week. The official report suspects operator error....

Over in Asgard space it was strange, so far less then a dozen former Black Fleetists had died, all in strange ways involving common computer controled equipment. One of them had been using the refresher when the water temprature skyrocketed. Anther had been making breakfast when the oven began leaking gamma rays. Another's comm device suddenly broadcast noise at an exact frequency that causes brain siezures. This was too many cases to be coincidence.

One of the technitians found something puzzlng a symbol on the control chips of all of the devices. The chip in question had all burned out as part of the malfunction. A picture of a Piramid with an eye.

Today the nine suspects in the killing of deserter Sergeant Janson of Duncan's Division were araigned. After a bail hearing, setting the highest bail amount at three hundred thousand dollars, the Monacoran Government paid for the bail, and for their travel back to England, as well as back to Monaco later in the year for their trial. In an Ironic twist of fate at the same time as their bail hearing in the lowest level of the courthouse, the ground work for a wrongful death lawsuit against the Asgard and the of teh Black Forest just above them. This could turn out to be an interesting legal year for us all.

The nine hostages were returned home today after the Monoracan government posted bail in a continuation of this farce trial. After nearly a month in captivity they were returned home to England.

The recieved a heros welcome as their plane debarked at the airport. Crowds of well wishers and reporters were on hand but they were reunited with their families. After what we are told was a tearful reunion, several went on to address the assembled crowds.

"All of us are glad to be home. None of us were had ever thought something like this could happend. We were taken, snatched from our families by brutal thugs. Our families were forced to endure a terrible ordeal as we were held hostage to the whim of lunatics. All I can say is we are glad to be home with our families. We're glad it's over."

Any attempt to retake your hostages will result in the use of deadly force on those making the attempt. We will not allow are citizens to be kidnapped at the whim of a government of lunatics.

Your choice, the schedule will have everything but the Trondenheim embassy out in five days, Trondenheim is going to have some bad weather, and unless we can get permission to use a military transport we would be unable to reach it with our Ambassadorial transports.

(OOC: One month for the detainment of the officers? You have to be out of your mind, at MOST it would take three days to get everything finished and over with.)

Military transports would be unsuitable for obvious reasons. The storms should be passing at the end of the week, you can finish your departure then.

Lietenent Commander William Bryan reclined in the bridge chair of the Monitor. He wasn't used to Hyper-space, the Monacoran Navy used a completley different, and much slower, system for Faster then Light travel. He was part of the team that was going to rework the ship into a servicable platform for Far-Point defense, his job was to change the bridge consoles from the Floater Dialect to the standard Monacoran language compatibility. Considering, though, he had the easy job, there was a Marine and warrant officer team taking apart as much of the Anti-Matter generator sytem as possible, making way for the installation of a quad fusion generator system which would take its place after a half week of refits in one of the shipyards. Five minutes later, after the first hyperspace enterence in the Far Point system, he could see something was wrong, Battle-Stations were being tugged into place around Far-Point itself, the Naval traffic in orbit was larger then anything he had ever seen, and the convoy taking shape had no guards surrounding it. The tugs weren't doing anything different though, the obvious destination was one of the refit shipyards. The refitting of the first reclaimed Monitors began.

The Republic of Mohaim must comdemn the actions of the Monacoran Empire. They are acting in an uncharacteristic fashion, which is both immoral and foolish. If they continue to violate international law and human rights, we will be forced to end our military agreements.

We ask that our Monacoran friends make some major changes in the fashion with which they are approaching the Asgard Empire.

As it is well known across the known galaxy, the Monocorans recently released their Asgard captives, charged with the murder of a Monocoran desserter, and maniac gunman, on bail back into Asgard Territory.

In response to this travesty, the DE population voted to officially condemn the Monocoran government for their actions 98%-2%.

"There is no moral or legal justification for the actions of our Monocoran allies, demanding that we be able to hold trials for a group of terrorists that kill our civilians is one thing, but charging police officers who defended themselves is another."
