I'm trying to figure out what I've been doing wrong trying to solo Sniper Fi (the Spec Ops mission) on Hardened... should I be more active/"aggressive" in planting the Claymores between rounds/in the opening seconds, or choose particular weapons? I was mainly planting them near the ladder immediately to my right at the beginning ("east"), 2 or 3 behind the container and cars, then one next to the containers adjacent to the ladder immediately to my left ("west"), sometimes one more next to the east ladder, and just kept refreshing them as 'needed'; once made it to the final wave I believe.

Ironically, this is sometimes why I got killed, when rushed by the next guy while trying to replace a claymore...
From what I've seen, the AK-47 gets a GP-25. I think most or all of the other assault rifles stick with the M203, even when not realistic/possible.

For that mission, I beat it on Veteran with no difficulty. Stick to the starting roof, plant a claymore on each entrance up there, use the M82 for sniping and the M240 for close-range targets on the ground, and make liberal use of the Predator drone. When a wave starts, immediately fire the drone on the incoming vehicle. It'll take out all the troops it would normally offload and create a big boom that kills the ones too close to it. If you're having trouble finding the last one or two soldiers, use the drone to spot them and fire a missile if they're not too close to you.

I'm personally loving the thermal scope on my SCAR, especially when I'm up against an inexperienced team. Did they all hole up in a little tunnel or bunker and mow down everyone who walks in front of them? Toss a smoke grenade at them. Either it'll flush them out for my nearby teammates to gun down, or they'll stay there and hope that nobody can see them, letting me pick them off one by one.

And clearly with only hundreds of millions of dollars to work with they couldn’t do that! All the high rise buildings ruined any feeling of immersion those missions might have had. Sure, Kabul has some tall buildings but in the rest of Afghanistan the only tall things around should have been mosques.
They had two years, and however many millions of dollars, you would expect that they could come up with quite a bit more substance. Unless the game engine took a lot of time, but it mostly seemed to be an improved version of the COD4 one. I'm not a computer expert, but is it really that hard to improve an engine you already have (and made)?

I will give them credit where it is due: performance is fantastic. Even on my core duo 1.6 ghz, nvidia 7600 go, laptop it runs very smoothly on medium-high settings. Was that their time-sink?

I would think so; the graphics similarity I think was noticed early on but basically IW decided to go with a consistent 60 fps frame-rate over "still" graphics.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure that the ak-47 does not get a gp-25. Aren't those muzzle loading? All attachable grenade launchers are breech-loading i think.

EDIT FOR ABOVE:

Actually, i'm wrong. You do get a GP-25 for the AK. In single-player, at least.

Actually, pretty sure the extradition was denied as it was decided that he is not of right mind or something.

Sort of. Militia did win a couple of battles against Anglo-German regulars (Lexington-Concord in 1775 and Bennington 1777 the only ones I know of) but both those were due to a serious underestimation of what the Anglo-German forces were dealing with (and the former when British forces in the Americas were at their lowest point). The rest of the time, the militia's response to facing Anglo-German or loyalist regulars in open battle, was to advance to the rear at speed.

It is not for nothing that Washington damned the militia as a "broken reed" and had some harsh comments on their officers, or that one of the more successful American generals - Daniel Morgan - explicitly ordered that any militiaman who legged it prematurely was to be shot right there.

Citing Morgan is interesting, considering how his tactics at Cowpens specifically were supposed to mitigate this -- putting their backs to a river (to prevent actual retreat), and having the Continentals make the stand while the militia were allowed to withdraw quickly (after softening up the British front line) behind the Continentals, although from what I read the British troops' having being run ragged by their pace certainly helped.

You also get it for multiplayer. I remember watching a killcam on Terminal and the guy killed me with a GP-25.

The most retarded thing happened to me, I was on the Scrapyard Map and going into the building beside Objective Alpha through use of a window, somehow a guy attempted to stab me but the ledge I climbed up through stopped him five feet away, retardedly it still killed me.

Also double shotgun guys are fucking retarded.

And Javelin Glitchers deserve to be lit on fire.

Fortunately, IW has announced that they are aware of the issue and looking to rectify it, while XBL is promising suspensions for glitching.

You pull out a grenade, and while holding it switch to your Javelin. I don't know why, but after that, if you are killed the Javelin shoots directly at the ground and kills everyone around you. It's fucking obnoxious.

Has it been reported as being a cross-platform glitch yet, or just on Xbox 360?

Ironically, the negative response to Modern Warfare 2 has actually been helping to drive up interest in the new Medal of Honor game (titled simply that), even though the initial response was all about THE BEARD.

In the sense that no irony's needed to make the subsequent phrase logical? (No sarcasm here.)

I just started playing MW2. Two minor annoyances already, credits were at the beginning of the game and not being able to switch fire modes (which was the same in MW1).

My biggest complaint so far is a mobility issue, how waist-high barriers can completely block you, even if they're in the middle of the map. This is made more frustrating by the fact that you can climb over some of them but not all.

It's definitely worth purchasing! Yes the single player campaign is short, but its amazing, exhilarating and so much fun. Yes, the infinite spawning of enemies is gone and I think this game is a bit easier than CoD 4 because of that but it is still just as fun. The multiplayer has changed a lot, especially on the PC which is what I have it for but I think its a lot more detailed and better.

Hurgh. Peak suck has been achieved.

Double shotgun fuckers are abundant.

And I got nuked repeatedly last night. It was fucking retarded. Seriously, if you have a "LOL! I WIN!" button in a game then don't give it to the person who scores 25 kills before most people can get 3-4 on the board.

I really enjoyed the spec ops missions. I think I'll be running through them again on veteran in the near future. As an aside, I would love to have the scrapyard and airport levels from spec ops as part of the regular Mp experience.

Does MW2 have something similar to MW's hardcore MP mode? I used to love playing that on Live.

BTW, does anyone know what has to be removed manually after uninstalling MW2 for PC? The dialog box did not say what and where the stuff is that has to be manually removed.
