I'd take one, as I'm one of the few PROFICIENT with them, but a gun and shield look stupid.

..What the hell kind of Paladin would I be if I didn't take 'Shield' to mean 'Tower Shield' or 'Chunk of Fortification'?

Ya know... I could be Sooooooooooooo cheesy and put my +4 Favored Enemy towards Drow.

But my character would probably have met far more Goblinoids than Drow in her career. So... Secondary Favored Enemy = +2 towards Drow.

It's not bothering me. I just find it odd.

Besides, you're an arcane caster. Adding extra spell failure chance isn't the best move.
