you have Two MOnths prep time before going and can freely meet up with those going before hand.
One other things is for those talking baout the size of places, this is supposed to be the game version of WoW, not the world as told in lore. What htis means is the world oyu will be on will be much much smaller. WIth a house you can ride from one edge of the continant to the other in just about an hour.
Also means no "thousands upon thousands" of badgames. Im sure someone has counted up how many creeps appear in some of the zones... that is all oyu would have to deal with.

so our enemies will bogged down by game mechanics, while we'll be free from them?
this has asked once already but what the feck is your point then?

You really want to know what the point is? What spawned this rather insain proposal?
The point is this.. I've played Wow for a while now, and the World is starting to get to me. Not the world as it is 'supposed' t obe, but as I see it in the game.
All thes plots and quests and stuff talk about the unstopable hordes of the dark Scourge when me and a couple buddies have wipped clean most of the eastren plaugelnads. Or when I've just finished someone else clearing all of the Fortress of Stromgarde and thinking "This place is nearrly fully intact, it would be perfect to take over, re-occupie" while at the same time, mobs I've killed 20min ago, have already respawned behind me.
Or how about when 5 high level people have just cleared the entired of Black Rock Depths? The Great immense city of the Dwarfs open! free, clear of badguys. Yet as soon as you leave, bam, its full once again.
Or how about some of the starting areas? Places where the NPC's moan about "evil coming from every direction!" when you know a good group of advetures could, in an afternoon, wipe out ever monster or badguy from the area.
I'm thinking you clear stuff, free stuff, kill legions of badguys, but it doesn't matter! Everything respawns and comes back, at the end of the day land is never "cleared" its impossible to ever retake forts, castles, cities. Take your pick.
So it gets to me, and i KNOW that its because of the game mechanics, that the game couldn't WORK if you actually "Got stuff done" So I get to thinking.. Screw the game! Screw game mechanics!
The great world of Azeroth, in game is a pair of landmasses that take less than an hour to travel from one end to the other. I get to thinking, what if someone actually DID get stuff down? Screw the respawns! Screw the status-quo! Im thinking lets see that immensly important fortress held by less then 50 monsters cleared and put to use! I'm thinking that the world as laid out in game is a place where a good force of people could not only get stuff done, but it done for good!
So there! theres the "point" to all of this madness! And I figured someone out there might pick up on it a few the same way! Screw the game mechanics and lets clear things perminantly!

Dude, put the keyboard and the mouse down and take a break.
It's a game. That's all it is.

Now I did a job. I got nothing but trouble since I did it, not to mention more than a few unkind words as regard to my character so let me make this abundantly clear. I do the job. But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

I've got agree with Broomstick and say if the compromizes Blizzard had to make the game playble (the lore Azeroth is several times larger then the in game Azeroth) get worked up that badly you seriously need a break.

Really, have to echo this...because your bit above sounds like someone who doesn't get Blizz does not care. They made a world since Warcraft 1(which they've retconned who knows how many fucking times and ways), and made it into an MMO. That's it, end of story.Broomstick wrote:Dude, put the keyboard and the mouse down and take a break.

Square put more love into FF1 then Blizzard did with Warcraft lore.

Stay busy.Knife wrote:Meh, I cancelled my account a month ago and miss it. It does have that effect.
I quite for 2.5 months for school, and didn't really miss it much. I started playing again on day 1 or 2 of a 2.5 week break in between semesters.
If you can stay busy, you shouldn't miss it as much.

Lol, I'm not that bad. I just understand the pull of the game. It is a great time filler and very incremental in nature. Just a little bit more till X, oh just a little bit more till Y, etc...Drowsong wrote: Stay busy.

But mostly just a good time killer if you have it. Kind of like this place.

Then you'll love Halaa in Nagrand when you get to Outland - the town is either Alliance or Horde depending on which player faction holds it - the battles are fought by players, and it stays in your faction as long as your faction can hold it.Crossroads Inc. wrote:Or when I've just finished someone else clearing all of the Fortress of Stromgarde and thinking "This place is nearrly fully intact, it would be perfect to take over, re-occupie"
Which is because no one would play a game where it took a week real-time to traverse a landmass. Even with the riding time under an hour almost no one runs or rides across the landmass, they take a flight or use a "translocation orb" or hire a mage to open a portal. Seriously, if people are dropping 1 or 2 gold for a portral from Thunderbluff to Orgrimmar (or equivalent trip) instead of paying 99 copper to make the trip in about 2 minutes... there are limits to how realistic any game like this can be and retain customers. The great world of Azeroth, in game is a pair of landmasses that take less than an hour to travel from one end to the other.
