I forgot to mention that I forward all my ualberta email to my gmail account as well. It's really nifty, especially since the ualberta webmail (Horde) is so slow and...1995. It's pretty quick to forward though, so I've had no issues with that. And the spam killer is awesome.

Yet another happy gmail user. I used hotmail for years, until I finally got sick of being overrun with spam unless I used the highest possible security setting. Which was annoying, since at the highest possible setting, it zaps just about anything from an email not already in your address book, so I ultimately have to sift through the junk mail folder looking over the big pile of spam to make sure it didn't zap anything important. Now, I basically use my hotmail account to sign up for any kind of site that requires an email addy so I don't have to have my gmail inbox cluttered up with promotional emails from amazon or ebay.

The amount of advertising in hotmail gets kind of ridiculous - if you have any kind of spam filter or ad blocker turned on, it seems at least half of the page gets zapped when you load it. The worst is some of the bikini-clad models in sexy photo shoots - now personally I don't mind that one bit, but if I'm checking my email at work while on break and a supervisor walks by and sees that without realizing it's my email, it could be a problem.

The gmail ad bar is barely noticable and can occasionally provide some unintentional comedy with some errant product suggestions.
