Looks like you're the one that has forgotten how to read. I'll say it again shut up.Stark wrote:I'm glad you contributed! If only the adults could reply instead...Schuyler Colfax wrote:No, it just annoys me when you post, so I'm saying shut up.
I did.Stark wrote:So... edit your post?Schuyler Colfax wrote:I didn't mean to press submit and had more to say.
How so? Sure, people don't need to buy it for the DLC if they already have the first, but that's 104 songs they're missing out on for less than a buck apiece as opposed to the $2 or so that songs usually cost for download.Lancer wrote:Anyways, their decision to make RB1 and RB2 almost identical, down to both supporting the same DLC, seems almost like shooting themselves in the foot as far as sales for RB2 is concerned.
They have always said that they wanted to have DLC work on any sequels they released, and that is a GOOD thing.Lancer wrote: Anyways, their decision to make RB1 and RB2 almost identical, down to both supporting the same DLC, seems almost like shooting themselves in the foot as far as sales for RB2 is concerned.
LOL! You're the big hard man now, eh? Good thing you're a moderator or I'd tell you to suck a cock.Schuyler Colfax wrote:Looks like you're the one that has forgotten how to read. I'll say it again shut up./
Aww, no thanks for reminding you?Schuyler Colfax wrote:I did.
Look man it's not my fault they get classed that way.Brother-Captain Gaius wrote:Also, Losonti baby, I love you but seriously hand in your fucking metal license for holding up SoaD as anything even remotely worthy of being metal.
Maybe if the company doesn't like their customers.Lancer wrote:I didn't say that intercompatibility was a bad thing for players, it just strikes me as a strange strategy for a company to pursue.
Maybe, but it almost sounds like what you're saying is that "good singing = metal".Brother-Captain Gaius wrote:The issue I have with RB1 (not including DLCs like Screaming for Vengeance) is that it's very, very, very short on music you can really sing to. We've had guitars for awhile thanks to GH and drums are drums are drums, but there are only a handful of decent songs on RB1 (and to a lesser extent, this RB2 list) that you can really go balls out on. If I'm not breaking my vocal chords on the cadenza vocal sections, they're not doing their job.
(Good) Metal and hard/classic rock usually provide an interesting vocal track. Singing "Maps" is fucking retarded and usually only good for a laugh, not if you really want to get into a singing part.

Contrary to what you may belive, this isn't Testing, and acting like a petulant douchebag by spamming image macros on stolen bandwidth doesn't make you instacool, it makes you a petulant douchebag. If you don't want to read Starks posts, then feel free to leave. Otherwise, man up and deal with it.Schuyler Colfax wrote:http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb20 ... fuk-up.jpg
No no no no. I probably wasn't very clear.Spanky The Dolphin wrote:Maybe, but it almost sounds like what you're saying is that "good singing = metal".
And truthfully, there are a whole bunch of songs in Rock Band's tracklist which are fun to sing.
Actually, I'd say that the reverse is more likely to be true. Given the high price of the whole Rock Band package, updating it all after only a year and making all of the old instruments and DLC (of which there is a significant amount) redundant would probably put off enough people to hurt profitability, whereas if all those people need to do is buy a new disc only copy and maybe one of the new instruments if they think that's enough of an upgrade to the old one, they're much more likely to shift copies.Lancer wrote:Anyways, their decision to make RB1 and RB2 almost identical, down to both supporting the same DLC, seems almost like shooting themselves in the foot as far as sales for RB2 is concerned.
Not to mention the introduction of third-party controllers, like a full-sized Stratocaster and the ION Drum Kit, which could really rake in the money if made properly.Vendetta wrote:Actually, I'd say that the reverse is more likely to be true. So I guess you haven't been paying attention to the huge amount of classic rock that has been released for the game? Just today marked the release of an even dozen tracks by The Who.Brother-Captain Gaius wrote: I mean, this is a game called Rock Band, right? So why are half the songs whiny alternative/modern crap? I sit there going through the motions and just matching pitch as best I can, I get Overdrive and there's an Overdrive cadenza section, and... what am I supposed to sing there? La la la?
Right, but the new Guitar Hero is gonna have 4.Vendetta wrote:Rock Band has four different instruments*. Guitar Hero has one.
*Two of them are guitars though.
