I downloaded the restoration mod, and so far it's quite good.

Fixes some annoying bugs, and finally I can dress up my party in leather jackets and go MAD MAX :D

(The armor mod is optional, BTW)

Is there a way to get the restoration mod to work on a Mac platform? The downloaded files didn't have any recommendations, except for if your were using WINE.

It is incompatible with Mac Fallout since they actually modified the binary. You could run it under VMWare, OTOH.

I was able to get the game working, more-or-less fine.

I don't believe there is a restoration mod for Fallout 1, is there?
Credo!

TeamX was working on one at one point, but I think they've put it on hold indefinitely.

Fallout 1 doesn't really need a restoration mod the way F2 did, anyway. It's pretty much a complete experience.

Okay, sorry for necroeing this, but a question on the Restoration pack, there's a load of optional extras. One of which is 'Missing Children' (For non english players). The base UK release didn't have children despite being in English, should I add this in as well, or is this something different.

Yes you should. Though I could swear it was installed automatically...

Gah!

The restoration mod breaks the Fallout hintbook!

I can no longer make a perk-loaded demigod to mess with the wastes post-endgame. Gah!

So far I'm impressed with the additions of the restoration mod, the only thing is that I can't figure out how to help the shaman at Sulik's village. I tried my first aid and doctor skills and it just says that he seems healthy enough.

You have to examine the young woman's body that's outside the village, and then talk to the shaman and wait untill midnight at his tent.

I want to play this on my laptop that has Vista. Barring any non-foreseeable problems, I should be able to play. If there are, please tell me now.

Also, does anybody have any tips for the game? I heard you can get some pretty powerful stuff with a luck of 10 but is it worth it?
I remember Fallout 1 not even installing on Windows Xp. I had to copy the CD contents to my harddrive and then running the setup in compatibility mode IIRC.

A few irritating problems.

1. The slaver camp, I freed the slaves, but there's one left at the edge of the map I can't see. I need to get this guy to clear the camp for the NCR Rangers.

2. Same problem with the Deathclaw in the Abbey, he's at the very edge of a map and I can only very occasionally get a shot at him.

3. Modoc...I just CANNOT get the Ghost Farm. I talked to Jo about the GECK and he told me to come back when I had a better attitude, some stat boosts and level boosts later and the option never appears. I talked to Balthus and got the info about Jonny being missing and have stowed the BB Gun in the car. Do I blow the rock fall at the tunnel? I tried placing dynamite but it never works.

4 The village near Vault City ask me to get 4 shotguns and/or Automatic Rifles and to see 'Joe'. Who and where is Joe in Vault City.
