You are correct. However, wars over the quality of beer are, IMO, more amusing than the least pious and God-fearing religious leaders the world has ever seen. Although come to think of it, stoner cardinals and lots of prostitutes (hypothetically, of course ) could be pretty fun to use...

They're still a major power when the game starts, and even the AI can usually keep them that way. So, out on account of the rule against major powers. Also, managing an empire that huge is a real pain in the ass in CK.

If you can think of a way to make us playing as Belgium funny, it's worth considering. And yeah, rising from nothing to rule the world is exactly what I'm going for.

The one thing that makes that easy- CK doesn't require you to be a nation. You play as a noble family. So we could, in theory, start off as, say, some minor duke in some country, then take it over, then take over the world! Which is exactly what an Ireland game would be, actually- it has a handful of counts and dukes, but no king.

Umm... Leaders of a former world empire on the run from the lynch mobs decide to travel back in time and build a new empire, because it's just easier. If nobody objects, the leader (who the lynch mobs did get) of the old empire would be Herr Doktor von Evilstein, and the eventual Evil Genius LP would be the empire being formed. Objections? Questions about my sanity, or lack thereof? I just like making seperate things cohesive wholes.

A good player can build a world-spanning superpower starting from a single province in EU3, halfway through Victoria, you're going to be running out of things to do. My suggestion is to start as a weak, uncivilized nation in America or Africa or Asia or something, then slowly build it up.

Right, another answer that I forgot to write until now:

We could conquer the world in fairly short order, yes. That would be if I were ruthlessly powergaming the whole way and were simply using the LP as a means of publicly wanking about my M4D $KILLZ. This would not be the place for that. The place for that would be the Paradox forums. Also, I'm honestly not that great a player. I'll count us as doing well if we simply survive until the end. This is with the usual constraints of "what would the characters do", of course. So i think we'll still have stuff to do, even if we do start building in CK.

Of course, as all the characters will be the most ridiculous stereotyopes imaginable (and I may have to make up a few for the Native Americans if there aren't any good ones already), what they'd do could be... odd. Particularly our actions if we play as ireland, as perpetual drunkenness would tend to inhibit the making of reasonable decisions.
