It is not 30 pixels it is 96 or roughly 8% of the vertical resolution. I'd call that significant since you can tuck the buttons in places where you can't put screen since you can't have an edge-to-edge LCD vertically (although horizontally is possible).

It's 30 on my phone. Most ROMs offer the ability to resize it. Doesn't CyanogenMod?The Kernel wrote:It is not 30 pixels it is 96 or roughly 8% of the vertical resolution. You are using a Galaxy Nexus? Then it's not 30. There's no way a 30 pixel button bar would even be USABLE assuming a 1280x720 display. What are you basing this 30 pixel figure on anyway?Terralthra wrote: It's 30 on my phone. Most ROMs offer the ability to resize it. Doesn't CyanogenMod?
To check download Android System Info and read out the effective resolution it gives you to know for sure.

My apologies, it's 30 doubled pixels, so 60. I could take it down to 24 dp/48 pixels, but that was a tad too small for my tastes. The Kernel wrote:You are using a Galaxy Nexus? Then it's not 30. Yeesh, that's just absurdly small.
Anyway to each their own. As I said, I like the Galaxy Nexus just fine but I think that the Galaxy SIII is simply a better phone. Some of the reasons (superior hardware) aren't in dispute but some reasons are subjective.

Indeed. The S3 definitely has a hardware advantage - not a huge one, but an advantage nonetheless. The Kernel wrote:Yeesh, that's just absurdly small.
