The controller is not that good, but I prefer it to the others. I can hold an official-size basketball with one hand. The other controllers are just too damn small. In my opinion, X-Box is the best console. But the PC is still better.

Dreamcast. It's gone now, but for three years it was far and away the best system on the market. Even discounting Soulcalibur it had terrific games; DOA 3, Power Stone, Skies of Arcadia, some fine sports, Shenmue...

Dreamcast is still the best system you can find. ive still to see these newer systems handle the shit that we throw at the DC. She went before her time...but ill be damned if she isnt the most played out of my 10 game systems.

While I would readily admit that the Gamecube's controller could have been better designed with button placement, at least fairly well designed (ergonomically) for most people, unlike some other console controllers I could mention... Hell, my hands tends to cramp just remembering the PSX's controller.

And while I'm ranting away, why wasn't the Gameboy in the poll damn it? :P

I liked the ability to customize the unit in terms of software. Playing MAME on it, DivX playback, heck, there was even a Linux port, I think. Unfortunately, the rampant piracy forced Sega to remove CD-ROM boot ability from the last run of Dreamcasts, but the ease of programming for the unit and the ease of loading independently-developed software on it has been matched by no past or present system. It was also child's play to bypass the regional lockout on the unit, making it an importer's dream. Likely no future system will try that again. The DC had primarily fighting games, but it was unsurpassed in those: Capcom vs. SNK, Kikaioh, Soul Calibur, Power Stone, Garou: Mark of the Wolves, Last Blade 2, and so forth all were lots of fun. The few RPGs released for it (like Sakura Taisen 3, Grandia II, Eternal Arcadia, and Shenmue) were classics. I still wouldn't rate it as my favorite system, but it ranks up there.

The Game Boy is a portable system, not a home console. The Virtual Boy, on the other hand, qualifies for this poll.

My vote is torn between the SNES and the GCN. So I'll go with the GCN.

...and Virtua On. I was trying to recall all of the fighting games I had either bought or rented, and missed some obvious ones.

GC should be able to handle the DC's graphics as it's a newer machine (fear the mighty PowerPC!) though PS2 might not. XBox might be able to as well.

Post Crash? WTF?
The Great videogame Crash of '84, when a series of incredibly stupid moves caused the near-death of gaming in North America and paved the way for a decade of Nintendo-domination and the endless stream of nearly identical side-scrolling platformers that came with it. How I despise generic side-scrolling platformers (although there still are a few genuine classics in the genre, such as many of the games in the Mega Man series, SMB3, and the original Ninja Gaiden.)

They weren't ALL like that... Let's see, there was North vs. South, Basewars... Um... Okay, I'll stop now. Anyway, those were my two favorite games to come out for the NES.
