Yes. You can make out a robed and hooded man, his face concealed. Again he knocks.

The two men glance at each other and the first one states, "You misunderstand. We are not making any request of you. You will come with us."

Each draws a small mace hidden in their cloaks to emphasize their point.

Dismounting his pony, Ryu enters the crowds, uncaring to their reactions. A pointed wicker hat blocks the sun from his eyes and also covers the majority of his face.

You notice a small disturbance outside of town. Two men appear to be chasing a lizardman with weapons drawn...

You nearly decapitate the first as he parries your other blade. Your viper springs on the second, injecting venom through the man's wrist. Oddly enough, the snake does not gain a very good purchase in his skin, which on closer inspection is now rapidly evaporating. Looking back at the other, you see all that remains is the cloak the man was wearing. There is no evidence of the blood you were sure you saw spewing from his neck. Both seem to have completely disappeared in the span of a few seconds.

He gives chase at a half run, his hand resting on the hilt of his ninja-to. He stops when the cloaked figures do. He readies his sling and lets two bullets fly.

Shot 1: 11 + 3= 14, DMG 2
Shot 2: 14+3 = 17, DMG 1

Ryu watches the shots speed past the phantasms in puzzlement

I recall my snake and head back into town--hiding and looking for the man I spotted earlier, he's bound to return...he may have some answers...

As you are following, someone taps you on the shoulder. A relatively wiry man asks, "Verhoeven? I am Ian. I would have a word with you concerning the day's events. Please, come with me." He motions towards a side alley. This Ian fellow seems sincere, but his dark cloak and leather armor might suggest otherwise.

NOTE:

Not to break up the story thus far, but I feel it important to make this note here. Now that I've got more of a feel for how this is going to work, here's how it works:

Once you're in the game, simply post some action your character does if you want to get involved again. Obviously I can't monitor everyone that's online 24/7, so if you're here to continue the story, make sure I know. If nothing involving your character has been posted in awhile, I will stop advancing your portion of the adventure until you return and concentrate on others who are online. I have designed this so you can drop off pretty much wherever and pick it up as soon as you're awake/available again. Of course, that applies to me as well so I may not respond until I have finished with that silly holdover you mortals know as "s l e e p".

Alastar paces back and forth. He is not comfortable being held in a locked house, not being able to contact the outside world... And he was not really comfortable having people hunting him.
