Gah! Need more help. On the level with the mutant Rancor (Tanaab i think) i've got stuck. I've got up to the bit where there's the long corridor with a secret area and a force field at the end. I've activated the switch in the control room that has 3 dark jedi in it and then i can't figure out what to do. I've force sensed the whole level. I've thrown my sabre at the rancor so many times it's body should be swiss cheese and i still cant figure it out!

Have you lowered the two crates you are supposed to use to crush the rancor? Jaden should say something about trapping the Rancor between the crates and the forcefield once you have done that.

I think you have to go back to the switch near that control room and activate that switch.

The switch in the room with the ramp that leads to the control room. I think.

Nope, didn't see any crates. i'll look around.
think you have to go back to the switch near that control room and activate that switch.

A crane lifts them down onto the conveyor belt when you activate the switch.

Jedi just don't do it for me anymore. I want a real
SW FPS like the original Dark Forces. Now that ruled,

I've already been taken down by playing in insane mode(Mod I found, 3x the number of enemies in the game gives the Weaponless jedi's the shotgun weapon and twinks the damage on the steath troopers(The semi-invisible ones)


Now thats trick a backflipping ninja with force powers and a shotgun :twisted:

To bad force grip+throw works so well on them, oh well


Anyway, Played all the way through the SP both ways, Mmwhwha that was a good evil ending, I loved it And you get your own star destroyer!

I HATED the freken plot and hated the freken lightside ending, darkside was fine mostly because you never go through part two of what the lightside has to go through

The fight with intergalactic-space-pussy-wouldn't-pass-for-a-jedi-if-he-had-a-robe-and-a-beard Kyle was cool, but it pissed me off all the dirty shit he'd do to you

1. How the fuck can he pull my sabre out of my hand? If he can do it to me, I can do it to him, but nooooooooooo.

2. How the fuck can he grab me and punch me/throw me etc, and my sabre magically turns off by itself? WTF? I fucking decide when to turn off my sabre, thank you.

For all that shit that I went through to kill that annoying pussy, I would've liked to really KILL him. Not watch Luke save his stupid arse after I make a quick exit.

I prefered the light side ending.

Those Mon Cal Cruisers fairly pounded the ISD

OTOH the Darkside ending left me cold and unsatisfied.


Anyone else get the impression Tavion might have survived thus making a hole for another sequal. More to the point will the next JK game incorporate the Vong?

I loved it. The only problem I found was the (quite understandable) fixation with double-bladed lightsabers and twin sabers. And I think it quite allright that Kyle could do what he did. I'd be hugely surprised if Jaden, in the short time period of the game, managed to reach anywhere near the skill level of a Jedi Master.

And I did like the story. As contrievances go, it was very bearable, and I didn't find any glaring contradiction with the established canon or official stuff. *cough*MysteriesoftheSith*cough*.

I nused two sabers against him and he only puled one out of my hand. problem is i then have to run around with my hand outreached to call the pother one back, meaning i can't attack! :evil:

The version I had....the throwing saber routinely got stuck and I was left with one...I could still attack fine with one while it tried to call the other back

I've ben stuck with one sabre too. You just run around attacking with one sabre and waving your over hand.

I bought this game last night.
Stupidest. Game. Ever.
Sucks fucking balls, blows goats, graphics are bad, terrible object collision recognition, clunky controls, (Had to turn of flashes fucking ATI). Why do they keep bringing back Kliknik Kadoodlehopper? I can't stand that fuck. Puke Guystalker looked terrible, too. Ugh. Needless to say Iwas very disappointed in Jedi academy.

Uh, because he's the main character of the series? At least they didn't pull that tired old "he lost his powers and now has to get them back again" bullshit like in MOTS and JK2:JO, it was getting pretty fucking old.

Oh, I'm scared. However, the fact of the matter is that Kyle starts off as a badass way back in Dark Forces. It was Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2 that turned him into a flower-hugging lightside hippy. In JK2, he was kind of somewhere in between. At the very least, he did have his badass moments after the part where Jan gets ganked by the bad guys.

However, if you were getting Jedi Academy hoping for one-person KOTOR, you're looking for the wrong thing. Dark Forces/Jedi Knight has never had the greatest stories, but they are fun games nonetheless. Of course, they are quickly becoming Jedi Simulation games, rather than shooters. In SP, you really don't need guns, since it's pretty easy to run up to a goon, slice him up, and move on while taking minimal damage in the process. Get into a gunfight, and you're almost certainly going to take more damage. Then, the AI jedi fucking cheat like hell and are totally immune to weapons fire for the most part. Snipe them, and they dodge. Blast them, and they saberblock. Try to blow them up, and the push the blast weapon back. Flawlessly. That's been my only complaint about the recent JK games. These fuckers are supposed to be pussies compared to real Jedi, but they pull off shit no jedi could do, and shit nobody can replicate online, which gives people the impression that guns are worthless online, and that only sabers matter, which of course then leads to my completely owning the fuckers at range with my guns. Naturally, since I'm good with guns, I'm a hacker/cheater/aimbotter/whatever and they leave the server screaming "HOTFOOT U FUKING CHEATER!!!"

But hey.

What do you snipe with? Disruptor? Far as I know, that's about the only thing what can't be blocked. except a few random heavy repeater pellets.

Yes, that's the sniper weapon of the game. They may miss the occasional Heavy Repeater bolts, but they'll likely catch most of them and sent them back your way, and the individual bolts don't do too much damage anyway.

Edit: Oh, and it can be blocked, at least in Jedi Outcast...you just need the highest level of saber defense. That may or may not have been changed in Jedi Academy.

I've killed Jedi with guns on several occasions. The thing is that they won't react until you trigger them, so if you use Force Sense, you can figure out where they are and bounce bowcaster shots or concussion rifle blasts to take them out.

However, Force Grip is vastly overpowered :twisted:

Bah, no it's not. Every time people would try that on me, I'd just push them away or pull them towards me. Now, with the new saber moves, I can pull them towards me and impale them on my saber. :twisted:

People who tried abusing grip-drops in MP quickly discovered that it was not an effective way to get kills against me, as I would pull them over the edge with me. Of course, that's only if they got close enough to me in the first place...which was never easy seeing as how effectively I would use guns. 8)

I find that strafing while firing at an angle works against sabers bouncing stuff back at you.
