Ace, I was supporting your 9700PRO purchase. And I wasn't very clear, I know, but I bascially meant: if you need high end, get a 9800PRO or 5900 non-ultra. I think these can be found for less than $300US?Ace Pace wrote: I never said specificly those cards, but there is NO reason if you can, and if you want to run games at high detail, get the high ends, find on price watch, or other sites, a simple 9700, or a R9800 regular, don't go to XT, the "overdriving" dosn't go over 10 MHZ overclock.

a Radeon 9800 Pro 128 MB is 299$, strange that a 256MB and a XT have the same Price.
Nvidia 128 MB 5900 will set you back around 200$, while a 256 will use allmost 300$.
*end geek show*

But how long ago was that, and have they changed their policies at all in the meantime?Arthur_Tuxedo wrote:Wish I still had that quote Mike made in my sig. If you can find it, a RAdeon 9500 Pro is a great card... cheap with great performance. If you NEED the latest texel shaders or whatever it's called for the DX 9.X games, go with the 9600Pro.
