Since you can sign onto AOL, or AIM anywhere that has an internet connection that won't get you very far.

AOL's TOS specifically states that whatever happens on your account is your responsibility. I hate to say it but one of the users of his AOL account fucked up and did something stupid, they either gave out their password or downloaded a virus.

I use to work in CAT, or password appeals, or whatever they are calling the department now that he had to call to get his password reset.
That just bites the fucking biscuit cos I'm the only one who uses the comp. I'm not dumb enough to give out a password, apparently I don't have a Trojan, but it could have been some kind've virus or spyware from somewhere, but I havent got a fucking clue as to where it might've come from!

But seeing as I'm ditching AOL now, come on and recommend a new ISP!

I don't know what to tell you. Someone got your password. Are you sure you didn't receive and email or IM claiming to be an AOL employee who asked for your password to verify or fix a problem?

Either way someone got your password somehow and the only way to do it is trojan horse, or you gave it out.

As for ISPs....screw them all. Demand broadband in your area! Though if you don't have broadb just look around maybe in your phone book under ISP? ::Shrug::

Nope, I didn't give it out to anyone.

HA! Broadband?! You must be joking! I live in a samll village in a very isolated area, there's very little chance of broadband for a good year yet.

Anything else?
Almost click System Testing and choose Full system scan. A full scan might take a while.

The Full System Scan isn't quite over yet, but there are 2 .exe programs that have "Positive Identification" on the "Alarm" bit and under "Name" it says "Small Webdownloader.j" and one comes from "c:\windows\temp\icd8.tmp\235003.exe" and the other comes from "c:\windows\temp\icd9.tmp\235003.exe" what do I do with them?

Can you use a Freeserve email account on here without having to make a donation?

R click on them in the window and choose delete, that should fix it.

Oh and I forgot:

* Be sure to disable System Restore before attempting to clean the
computer as System Restore will recreate the infection if you
leave it running. *

*Cries* And how do I do that? I've already deleted the .exe's. Does that mean that if System Restore was on they'll be in the same place?

Just disable System Restore entirely.

IMO it is quite ineffective
