Thoughts? Concerns? I hate the power gamer in me, but this is a computer game for fuck's sake.
Last time around I did it as Lev2 Soldier lev 18Consular. Forcepowers all da way

Last battles was so damn easy!

How'd you get Jedi at level 2? Is there some way to keep from leveling up?

Has anyone killed Juhani? I'm of the opinion she is the most useless NPC in the game - even the Artoo clone can be useful if you want a computer to slice. So, has anyone done it?

IMO Juhani is a helpful NPC to have on your side when you enter the temple on the Unknown Planet. Other than that, I didn't use her in my light side game very much. When playing as a dark-sider, I simply ended her misery without trying to even redeem her. Later on Korriban at the gate leading to the Sith Academy, I met her old friend who was still royally pissed off at me, so I killed her too.

I found the light side game much more rewarding (much closer to my personality, I guess).

I got tired of trying to save her after a minute. Snap-hiss. She's dead.

But she is quite useful. Having two party members with Force Wave rocks.

I'm playing through KOTOR just now, and I was having a talk with Canderous. He relates this bizarre story about some wierd ship he and his Mandalorian buddies encountered. They chased it out of the galaxy, and it seemed to be heading somewhere else.

Does anyone know what the fuck is behind this story? It's maybe his second or third story.

No, that "asteroid ship" (sounds awfully Yuuzhan Vongish, doesn't it? ;)) doesn't have anything to do with the game's story. Later on the game you'll eventually see what Canderous' quest really is - it's nothing big, really.

To be honest, that's what I suspected - but since I'm completely unfamiliar with the NJO I didn't know for sure.

And I agree about Canderous's sidequest - nothing special, but any chance to take out my Mandi boy for some killin'. :D

Missions side quest was the best!

What a looser brother :)

Hmm, I've actualy done pretty good as a scoundral/guardian. My trip through the light side was some what on and off but it was the first time I played the game. When I started again on the dark side, I did my intial level ups to get all my melee feats and dueling feats.

I also when nuts on the Strength and Charisma atributes to further agment my melee skills and persusion.

On a side note and spoilers......

I'm almost done the second time around as a bad guy, just got done with the Leviathen. What side quests am I missing?

Carth?

Mission and her bro. Though I still haven't gotten the shit for his brew.

Bastila and her dad's holocron. Does the thing do anything for me?

Canderous and his ex-buddie. Kind of liked it.

The Wookie?

HK?

T4?

Juhinji, I killed her on Dantooine but then re-loaded the game and saved her for shits and giggles but never ran into anyone for her 'side quest'.

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

Talk to Carth enough and he'll tell you he lost his wife and son to Saul's betrayal. Land on a planet and take Carth out with you (make sure it isn't Korriban). He'll meet a mate of his who'll tell him his son is still alive, but has joined the Sith on Korriban. Go there, and you can talk to him.

It's on Kashyyk, and you don't get anything from it (though I hear talking to Mission about her brother gains you some LS points, depending on what you say).
Bastila and her dad's holocron. Does the thing do anything for me?
You should do Bastila's quest before she kinda get's taken by Malak. It may help, a little. And I can't remember what you get for it, aside from the satisfaction of completing another side-quest (and hearing Bastila talk - yowsa, that girl... she pushes my buttons.)
Canderous and his ex-buddie. Kind of liked it.
Agreed. Short, and simple. Very little running around (compared to the others).
The Wookie?
Go to Kashyyk.
HK?
You need an insanely high repair skill, which I never bother with - I'd much rather put the points into Persuade and Treat Injury. Apparently he tells some funny stories, while repairing him increases his combat effectiveness.
T4?
Nothing.
Juhinji, I killed her on Dantooine but then re-loaded the game and saved her for shits and giggles but never ran into anyone for her 'side quest'.
Talk to Juhani long enough and she'll tell you her sob story. Walk out with her on any planet and you'll meet one of her old enemies. There will be a conversation which I think ends up with the villian fucking off, promising vengeance or some shit. The second time you land on a planet with her in your party he'll be waiting with a couple goons. You can get LS or DS points, I think, if you persuade Juhani not to kill the guy (after you beat him he'll be at your mercy), or if you provoke her to do the deed (DS points, obviously).

Weird, I use Carth pretty regulary and haven't gotten this side quest. Though at this point, being on the dark side, I've been to Korriban and killed everyone in the Academy.
It's on Kashyyk, and you don't get anything from it (though I hear talking to Mission about her brother gains you some LS points, depending on what you say).
Yeah, this time through, Kashyyk is the last planet of the original four (five?) I'm going to.

Hmm, I'm a little upset. Going through as a goodie to shoe, I got some kissing action out of her, but going through as a badie, I haven't gotten any. :x
Agreed. Short, and simple. Very little running around (compared to the others).
Didn't get much out of it, other than killing three guys.
Go to Kashyyk.
So his side quest is the whole brother/father thing? *shrug* oh well, I don't use him much any way.
You need an insanely high repair skill, which I never bother with - I'd much rather put the points into Persuade and Treat Injury. Apparently he tells some funny stories, while repairing him increases his combat effectiveness.
So his side quest is that whole, fix his memory thing. Sorry, some of those logic problems don't jive with me. They're fucking hard.

Makes sense, I've only really used her on the last planet and the SF itself.

Cool though, thanks for the info.

You need a very high repair skill to repair HKs memory. You dont have to do logic probs or anything. It only depends on your repair skill.

It gets progrssively harder.

You get to know his story (him switching masters etc).

You do not get to know that he once belonged to Darth Revan (by repairing).

Everytime you repair him he gets a bonus (+2 dex, stuff like that).
He has +5 dex, +2 life regen when fuly repaired. You need repair at 10-17 to do this (gets harder everytime you repair.

You can get repair 17 quite easily with the right equipment.

What did you do with her dad's holocron?

When playing as a darksider, I didn't let her mom have the holocron and Bastila got extremely sad. I don't know if it was a bug or something what the Bioware had intended, but after this I was unable to continue talking with her. I played for several hours but nothing helped. Fearing the worst, I loaded my earlier save and helped Bastila and her mother to fix their troubled relationship. Bastila was, of course, happy about it and when we returned Ebon Hawk, the game continued normally and I was able to talk to her again. Eventually, at the top the temple on the Unknown Planet, she told me that she would be my "lover and apprentice".

Juhani is my third name. (Finnish version of John) :D

Imagine my surprise when I came across Juhani in KOTOR. Meh, they could've given that name to some other character! :)

That ship is a Vong ship. Just listen to the description: rocky growth, sprayed molten projectiles, escaped out of the galaxy, etc.
