I own a PS2, have experience on all 3. I would say the PS2 is the best
for me. I do not like the X Box control, and from what I gather they only
have one game (Halo) that matters, all other good XBox games can be found for the other systems as well. In any game shop I have been in,
X Box has the smallest amount of games to choose from. Maybe if they
improve that I would get one.
The GameCube, I like but do not yet own. I always hear that the modern
Zelda games are rubbish so I refrain from buying it Now that I think of it,
maybe that was talk refering to N64...... Game cube has only one other
exclusive I would like FF:CC but that alone will not get me to buy one.
While I own one the PS2 is not without fault. The remote control is not
all it could be, and having to put a code in just to watch a movie gets old.
It seems to me that with the exeption of Madden, PS2 has pretty much
taken the year off. I do not know of any PS2 exclusives released this
year that were any good.
Browsing through the used section of a game shop typically gives a choice
of rubbish like outdated sports games, and knock offs of once good games. For me recently Gladius looked good. Then I come to find it
uses the same boring battle system as FF:tactics. and so on and so on.
Hopefully next year will see good games come out.

I have all but a PS2, and that is because I bought a 'Box, then borrowed my brother's PS2 to play kingdom hearts, thinking it would be cool. The difference in the graphics is positively stunning. say what you will about the system's capabilities and the quantity of games, but I can't stand PS2 now. I just recently bought a 'cube because it's fecking cheap now and some of the games are neat-o (Animal crossing, anyone?) and I saw an imperial assload of games at Target for 19.99 each. That said, I love my 'box and would happily give my left testicle to save it's life. Plus...Fable...'nuff said.

SSBM, MK:DD, LoZ:WW, Metroid Prime, Animal Crossing, LoA, ToS, the RE games, Viewtiful Joe, F-zero
SSBM, LoA, ToS, RE? No idea what any of those are. As for the rest, since Mario Kart 64 was good for only a weekend of fun, not quite worth the cash to get the next one. I've never liked anything in the Metroid series. I emulated F-Zero once for SNES and deleted it after about a half-hour. And Zelda is always fun, but as I said, Link is nowhere near being worth $100+.
And the controller.. what are you, an ogre?
Actually, yes I am. 11 inches thumb to pinky.

I have to ask about the stability of the X-Box. Only twice have I seen one that was not frozen.
The gift of Superman is the same in his universe as ours. It's not about his powers, his costume, his persona, it's about the using the gifts he has to help people. We all have gifts too, maybe we can't leap tall buildings in a single bound, but maybe we're good with math, maybe we're charming. We can use our gifts -whatever they are- to help people. We just need to make that choice. And Superman shows us that it's possible.

SSBM is Super Smash Bors. Melee, RE is Resident Evil.

Mine freezes way less than my N64 (which i still play BTW). I've not had exorbitant numbers of crahes, no more then any other electroinic device.

Fast enough to make your eyes bleed, utterly gorgeous, handles like a dream, and is a stunning pick up and play arcade experience. MK:DD is forever in its shadow.

My Xbox has crashed a grand total of once, in the 18 months I've owned it, and that was cause of a big greasy fingerprint on the disc (thank fuck, it was Ninja Gaiden too)

Too bad it has the worst designed tracks known to man.
Well unless you consider multiple bottomless pits in the middle of the track, and being launched clean off into the void because you boosted at the wrong time to be fun..

They're supposed to be challenging. The F-Zero series is known for three things:

1. Speed.

2. Insane Track Design

3. Difficulty

If you can't handle the heat, then don't play the game.

I find Quantun Redshift better. Play on redshift mode for half an hour and then watch TV. Everything goes really slowly. Then you're brain kicks in and you feel sick. Great feeling.

You forgot Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Mario Kart: Double Dash (one of the best multiplayer games I've played next to Super Smash Bros Melee), the new Zelda and Metroid games coming out, and the Rogue Squadron games...

Either PS2 or Gamecube, depending on the games you want.

Gamecube has a load of quality games on it, I've lost hours to Super Monkey Ball with friends. PS2 has a larger selection of games though, and yes, more "mature" ones.

I can handle difficulty, I went through F-Zero X just fine.
But being randomly catapulted off the track for no reason other than boosting or turning is what's known as a bug and a design flaw, not difficulty.

I have an advanced version of the X-Box. It's my PC. Then again, I'm heavily biased - the only games on the system that interest me are things like Halo, which are inevitably available and better for the PC.

Most are...except Halo. :P

Seen the two...and somehow Bungie dropped the ball.

Hope for PCers Halo 2 works out much better.

Yeah, but I never have to spend money upgrading my X-Box to make sure it can play the latest games. I'll take the hit (a small one at that) in graphical quality in order to save hundreds on hardware costs.

I had problems with Morrowind freezing. Alot. But that was the game, not the box. Buggy piece of shit. But I fixed it. Bought a new Morrowind when it went platinum for 19 bucks, so...no big loss. I just couldn't stand letting my argonian monk one-punch-and-your-stamina-is-gone, BITCH guy go away forever.

For most people, yeah, the cheaper price of the console makes sense. Many career adults generally don't have a problem upgrading their computer once a year, however.
