It means that people's movements are often jerky and clunky. From what I've seen from CS:S, the characters look like they "glide" over the ground and are just waving their feet around for show, like they're not really connected with the ground.

A very minor thing to notice, and it might just be my eyes playing tricks.

I dunno. From looking at the pics, it reminds me of games like Deus Ex - looks good, but not very impressive.

WTF? Deus Ex is four years old, how can you possibly compare it to CS:S?

I said it reminded me of Deus Ex - the same artificially stiff feeling.

Bronze. I hope DoD Source is available for free later, because paying for a simple multiplayer mod seems a bit silly. According to this month's issue of PCGamer, Half-Life Source just uses the Blue Shift high-res models and textures and Source's water effects and physics. And 90 bucks for a game is just ludicrous.

I got bronze. I was tempted by the silver package but I figured there was some sort of catch to it and I wouldn't be surprised if it came out for free later on.

The gold package didn't even cross my mind...ridiculous. Talk about capitalizing on a previous success.

Maybe. But I've seen deals like this happen before then a year later they release it for free. (I'm talking about the MODS, just in case there was any question)

These are official mods. They aren't planning on giving them out. Especially not CS, as it is the only official multiplayer aspect of HL2 so far.

CS comes free with all the packages. But $10 for a prettier DoD is still lame.

Its not just DOD that you get. You also get Half Life 1 in Source as well.

Not quite. Half-Life with Blue Shift's models and textures, and Source's pretty water effects.

And Source's physics, and its ragdoll effects, and its portal skies.... :P

Think of it as giving 10 extra dollars to to the good folks at Valve!

I'm confused; I thought CS:S was basically a straight port to the new engine? I saw some videos, and they looked just like oldscore CS, but with physics. So whats everyone wetting their pants over? Won't they eventually release a proper updated version?

Not quite. Half-Life with Blue Shift's models and textures, and Source's pretty water effects.
The water creature sure looked changed. Besides, it won't be long till people work on higher quality models for HL1 Source. And of course you forgot that HL1 Source has all the physics capabilities.

Speaking of HL2, there's a pinata in Valve's lobby that's supposed to be broken when the game's gold.

Halflife2.net and Gamespot are reporting that it has been broken.

We'll have to see in a few days what Valve says.
