Le sigh...

Another game I have to buy. Is the mod done at all yet? Beta or anything?

It's more to do with the game itself, Homeworld 1 didn't have the sea-of-stars I wanted, but instead countless bloody nebulae. Homeworld 2 looks the same. It's not a slight on the modder's sole effort, and I did not mean to disparage his work.
But hey, wouldn't a starry backdrop actually increase performance? I mean, the particle effects surely take more computing power than what is in essence a repeating texture... right?

In that case, it should be possible to tweak it somewhere down the line.

Mod looks great - so great in fact that I coughted up $20 to get it (though I've gota wait a week :(

On a side note; I hope they have different rulesets; limits to supply. While it's fun to have big ass RotJ battles, it's also fun to have the single star-destroyer type battles, where it's a couple of destroyers and a handful of lighter escorts and some fighter wings.

I think this may replace Rebellion as my favorite star wars ship combat game!

The nebula you see in the background of most screen shots are just textures mapped onto a sphere. You can change it just by changing the background for the map, IIRC.

Mon Remonda or something of the like.
The Remonda is that big?

Okay. Then I hope the background texture allows for enough resolution to depict decently small stars.

I think it's just the perspective. The camera is zoomed in fairly close to the ship in the foreground, and the dreadnoughts are pretty far out there (SW ships have longer ranges in the mod than Vaygr or Hiigarans), so the sizes look goofed up.

A fleet of 200 dreadnaughts that got lost during the clonewars. IIRC, after ROTJ admiral Daala (?) found this fleet back and used it against the new republic

You're thinking of Thrawn. How you could mess that up is... hard to understand.

Daala? She was a dumbarse.

Daala was pretty bad, but she was also what, 15 years out of date? She was good in her time though.

To be perfectly blunt, I simply couldn't stomach the KJA books and so I don't know much about Daala, except that she was largely inconsequential and has been ignored I believe by later EU works.

Yes, she is entirely KJA's creation. And yes, Darksaber was a travesty to SW and the EU.

It isn't. The Mon Remonda is in one of the screenshots in the OP, and it's body shape is entirely different. If I were to take my guesses, I'd say that was a Mediator, though I could be entirely off base.
It's Rogue, not Rouge!
