The command key is less prone to making apps break though, a random hot on it doesn't actually do anything.
You can, for most applications, turn the windows key off, and it is handy for shortcuts if you're stuck with Bill's desktop wares..

Yeah, but the command key is just another modified button like Ctrl and Alt.
