So, the really important question: Is the LTD edition worth it? Or is standard a better bang for my buck?

Dunno, haven't gotten a chance to watch the Extra DVD yet. The case is nifty though :)

For those of you bitching and complaining about people being too loud to sleep/study....

Go to the library to study.

Put in earplugs/headphones to sleep.

The second one might be a bit harder to do...so I do feel bad for you...but comon, studying in your room is a bad thing to do anyway :P

The ltd edition is kinda worth it for the reinforced box. The DVD is pretty lame though.

And I don't get why they didn't mention that the covvies knew where Earth was now. Your average Halo player who hasn't read the book isn't going to have a clue whats going on; I only had a heads up from you guys talking about the books. I would have exchanged the stupid bomb-wrangling scene for a single sentence like 'The cov destroyed reach, killed most of the SPARTANS and are heading towards Earth'.

Call me crazy, but I would have assumed there'd be heaps of defence platforms in orbit anyway. My poor storytelling comment was actually more about the harsh transition from looking at the MAC firing at distant targets, to the bomb-wrangling where the fleet is right outside your door, to then having penetrated to the surface. It didn't make much sense, because noone mentioned how the fleet battle was going.

Why is there such a difference between the nice bombardment seen from space and the lackluster air units used by the covvies? Since you're 'the demon', couldn't they send a single capship round your way?

Its more fun that Halo because of the better weapons. Smallarms don't do jack to vehicles, which is nice, but the AI is pretty poor; I've sat around sniping a bunch of covvies and they never seem to notice the big blue line showing where I am :?

Its a shame you can't play MP as regular dudes tho. It'd be fun to be a noshields guy (or ten) in a Halo battle...

We've known they were gunning for Earth for a while what with their descision to kill us and all. The ones who were surprised in this case were the Covenant who had no clue we were on Earth.

Not according to Sarge. When he shipped out the OD-net was just a budget fight. And they weren't there the last time the Chief was on Earth.

Because you're fighting off a boarding action, and as elite as the chief is he's still a grunt. It's not like people are going to be forwarding updates to him direct. And as far as I know most of the covenant fleet was holding back. On the other hand the Prophet took his ship and it's escorts right through the net for earth.

They didn't expect the chief to be there for one thing and hte only capship we know of that got to Earth was the Prophet's ship.

Yeah, yeah. Anybody who watched the end credits in Halo all the way through knows that he'll show up at some point. :P

Johnson is not a spoiler, he's in the E3 demo.

I don't think he's talking about Johnson.

You did watch Halo all the way through the end credits, right?

I'm disappointed that we don't see any other Spartans in the game. What are they doing?

Maybe it's the preview I'm watching, but the guns sound.. Fucking pathetic. The firearms sound quieter and less-oomphworthy than popguns. The little bike/fighter thing feels as slow as a trot through molasses. Beyond that, it looks like just another urban-set shooter. I dunno. I'm thoroughly underwhelmed.

I've played up to the Arbiter cinematic, and for some reason I feel a bit dissapointed by it. I'm not enjoying it as much as I enjoyed the first one. I tried to avoid keeping track of the developments and attempted to shut myself off from the hype, but maybe that didn't work too well...

I actually like how the guns sound, but my brother said they sound like airsoft paintball guns.

Most of them sound the same as they did in Halo to me. THe battle rifle certainly sounds louder than the AR did, though yes the SMG does sound very 'snap crackle pop'
