Though we are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are,--
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are,--
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will

There is the itty-bitty, minor problem that a Strider, much like a Combine Gunship and Dropship - is organic, a critter, a being... As such finding a door to wedge open could prove messy...Isil`Zha wrote:Much like one hijacks a Scarab?MRDOD wrote:

Cyber-elf form? You mean the form in which he DIED in Zero 3 because he couldn't maintain it much longer? His weakest form which was unable to do anything but distract Elpizo (the most annoying character in Zero 2) and which he was trapped in after it was destroyed? The form that was unable to do anything but pass Zero his saber in Zero 1?Drooling Iguana wrote:Sometimes he is, sometimes he isn't. Hell, he might not even need to go into battle himself. If his cyber-elf form can take control of Samus' suit, he can end the battle easily without exposing his real body to any kind of danger.
He wasn't able to do anything useful in that form other than give Zero advice and pass him his saber, in any of the three Zero games...If it was so powerful, why was he unable to defeat the copy of his original body?
Nah, only X with his normal body would be able to do anything. With his big fancy uber-armor he'd have some impressive attacks available, but he is a lot weaker (plus, vs the Fusion Samus, he'd be murdered. Armor/wall peircing beams that are wider than Samus herself, ice missles that freeze everything on the screen, etc), and couldn't follow Samus if she used the screw attack + space jump...
On the second one, I already said Master Chief vs MegaMan X vs Samus...same basic thing.Dennis Toy wrote:New Video game battle

Master Chief vs Samus
I'm fairly certain that both X and Samus would murder Master Chief He has some nice weapons, but that rechargeable shield wouldn't do much against a fully charged ice beam (or ice diffusion missles) + super missles and a charged plasma blast in the case of Samus. For X, he'd get his fancy armor from X5 and X6, a few subtanks, and all his weapons, and crush MC like a bug. Giga attack + the strongest of the boss moves he collects + a follow-up Z-saber hit should do it.

He couldn't maintain it any longer because his actual body had been 'sploded at the end of the previous game. With his body intact, he'd likely be able to maintain the cyber-elf form indefinitely.Praxis wrote:Cyber-elf form? And I never said that X's ability to interface with Samus' power suit was guaranteed, but he has shown the ability to interface with certain computer systems when in elf form. Not all of them by any stretch, but some, so it would give him something else to try.

I reiterate - much like a Scarab or Tank. He pounds a hole open in it and tosses a Granade in.weemadando wrote:

While I do suppose he could find something to pry open in a combine APC; it would be considerably more difficult to down a strider, considering their height. Though, all in all, they are honestly not terribly effecient war machines; they are more terror weapons than anything else. I wouldn't be terribly surprised if he could just break one of their legs, though one must realize that numbers eventually win...Isil`Zha wrote:I reiterate - much like a Scarab or Tank. As uber as MC is, it's hard to say that he'd have the same effect on the people that Freeman did. Remeber, Freeman is practically the messiah, who knows if the appearance of some futuristic super soldier would have the same affect.
