Ooooh, I got Youko's special (she's that quiet/cynic girl who runs ahead if you hit her and blocks anything the next girl you hit does).

She and a couple of the other girls stand around you doing something, and you become like....energized and stuff, and you're like a rubber ball.

EDIT: Ah, cool. What it does is it makes you bounce HIGHER every time you hit the ground again, so I was reaching heights of 250 meters and higher, keeping you in the air for a looooong time.

EDIT2: Actually, there are different types of Youko specials, depending on what shows up in the special box and which person you hit. One I just got simply shot my horizontally like a rocket, with no drop or gain in height. I got some 1000 meters for free.

My highest record was 7580-something.

Two Misato specials, a lot of that katana girl's special, and I think a Youko special really helped there.

EDIT: And the music is probably the opening theme to Cross Channel. It was on this demo movie for the game.

I think I got near 200m in the air at one time (my longest distance covered). I recall still going past 160m quite fast before falling, only to use another combo.

You say that, but wait till someone writes a program that can play it automatically - back in the days when the click the bubble reflex games were the height of cool, most of my sixthform spent the breaktimes trying to beat each other at who could get the most - then my two mates got together and wrote some sort of mouseover programme that scanned the screen every second or something - they got the highest possible score and pissed off most of the blokes who had been playing it for two weeks trying to beat each other. You're only allowed three up aerials for each run.

Vald is right that this isn't a game that can be played using a computer to cheat. It requires timing, observation, and sometimes just a good amount of luck. Running the game on automatic would just lead you right into Misato's arms or stranded on the ground.

Oh, and crongrats to Uts for making it past 10km.

I've been pretty hit-or-miss at this. My best attempt so far has been 6972.56 m, but I've been averaging only around 1.5 km. Biggest problem is that I keep running into Yohko (despite attempts to Aerial Crash my way out of impacts), who keeps nullifying any boosts I earn.
