Firefox, although IE still gets used for MSN hotmail stuff. But when IE was telling me I had no emails (old or new) at all in my account, Firefox had a grip on reality and told me that, yes, in fact I did.

Firefox 1.01 at home.

Safari at school, mostly. Mac IE for some websites like the darned OUAC (Ontario Universities Application Center?) that won't take Safari. The school is installing Firefox anyways.

Firefox 1.0, no plug-ins, I find I like it. Tabbed browsing is superior to IE which I used until recently, and the speed is ok.

I use several browsers:

Opera 8.0b2 (primary)
Firefox 1.01 (mostly for the Biobar, Translation Panel, and ForecastFox extensions)
Internet Explorer 6.0 (only for those damned sites that refuse entry unless you're using it -- I only pull it up about once every two months)

I used IE for everything up until Firefox was released, and now the only time I'll switch back is if I'm using another computer with only IE installed.

Safari and Firefox.

Firefox, version 0.9.2., although I still have IE on the computer. Of course, I don't think it's possible to get rid of.

Used to be in win98 - not in XP afaik

I use the latest Firefox in linux, Mozilla in Windows cos I'm too lazy to update. Never use IE or Opera except for site testing.

I find Firefox is a lot less susceptible to spyware as well. I had a problem a few months ago with self installing spyware when I was still using IE. I had been using Ad-Aware and then dowloaded Spybot S&D, it found over 85 problems and I never got it quite sorted.

Yesterday, I ran Spybot S&D under Firefox, I had been neglexting to check it, and there was only 13 entries, all rather minor and removed quickly. Plus the pop up blocker is a bonus, and tabbed browsing is one of the best features.

New browsers are a bad idea i think.

People always say how bad IE is because it has security problems and the hackers....etc. Then they say Firefox and OPera and the others are just so picture perfect blah blah blah.

The only reason there picture perfect is a small percentage uses them. Wait untill a large percentage starts using them and the hackers decide to try hacking them too then when their flaws are figured out they wont be as reliable. Nothing perfect i dont care how good people thin something is. Unless your the FBI(and even then) a hacker can screw it up.

Speaking OF Browsers. All the stuff the other browesers offer IE is going to be offering and then some pretty soon. Its said that IE will be back to being the best again.

So to answer your question i IE and im sticking with it because of whats coming up.

Until 2 days ago? IE.
As of 2 days ago? Firefox. The fact that I now have Dune's litany against fear accessible from the tools menu was reason enough to switch.

So basically you discount the open source movement, which, when it finds security problems fixes them in hours or days instead of weeks or months like microshaft, and then go on to say that you're using a crappy browser because microshaft says that IE 7 wont suck like IE 6 does. That's smaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaart.

Darthdavid answers it best, but to add on to his...
I'm going to skip all the security issues, because Darthdavid is right on that.

But FireFox crushes IE in FEATURES ALONE. Tabs, popup blocking, extensions (which are awesome), etc.

Throw in the security benefits (which are NOT because of market share, but because of Internet Explorer's 'integration' with Windows, allowing someone to take control of the whole OS through the browser through ActiveX), and you have one browser that is better in every single way.

The new IE is going to have all the features of those other brwosers and then some. There by making it even better. I didnt really believe it but im reading about it more and more. The most recent artivle was (last months?) Popular Science which compared the Browsers. It said IE was bad bet the new version would make IE the best ranked one when its released.

In the mean time theres alot of problems with the other browsers like alot of sites arent compltible with them which is a big problem with me because i have a lot of sites i like to go to that say they dont work with other browsers.

Dont get me wrong i like the other browsers but id rather stick with microcrap still even though i hate them. Remember no computer is safe from hackers it doesnt matter what browser your using. Mines just more open then yours. In the next 50 years most people on this board wont ever have a hacker on their pc anyways.

Oh and as for Pop up blocking. I already got one so why do i need another one?

You've replied to a rebuttal of your position by *drumroll* repeating your previous argument of "IE 7 Weeel b3 t3h r0x0r and j00r br0wz3r5 b3 just as w3ak @5 m1|\|3!!!oneshift+1!!111!". Now I shall rebutt your argument again. 1) Let us assume, hipothetically (rar), that IE7 will be the greatest browser ever. Now let me ask you this. In the months before it's release why not use another browser? Why would you spend months with less security, less features and more conformity? 2) Now, let's look at the real world. IE7 will probably have all the features of Firefox and Opera, for about a month. You know why? Because Microsoft doesn't innovate. They just copy. So they'll blindly steal the other browser's features then when the other browsers make new features they'll be left in the dust untill IE8. 3) It's not hackers to be worried about cockmonkey. It's trojans and spyware. These all take over your system through Idiot Exploiter's Active X controlls. Unless they want to break hundreds of ligitimate sites (including microsoft's update page) they're forced to leave these in here. Thus making IE less secure. And unlike any potential hack attacks anyone who uses IE for any length of time will, eventually, get spyware/trojans. 4) The only reason sites break when used by non IE browsers is because said sites are not W3C compliant, and rather, they use borked code designed to run under non W3C compliant IE. There's also plenty of sites that use W3C compliant code that flat out won't work under IE. If they incorporate the same crappy non standards compiance into IE7 they won't fix the W3C compliant sites that wont work with thier POS browser and if they do then they're in the same boat as Firefox and the rest of the alternative W3C compatible browsers (they wont be able to render the old pages kludged to get the desired effect with IE6).
In short, bullshit defeated.

have you ever actually used other browsers, like firefox, before? or are you just speaking out of your ass?

many of the complaints about other browsers you bring up are mostly taken care of. as firefox is based on netscape code, it's compatable with about 90% of all websites in existence. there's very, very few it will not work just fine with.

also, if you don't like microsith so much, then why continue using their products? in the case of operating systems it's understandable, but browsers are a relatively simple issue. especially as other browsers are generally a very small download compared to. . .say, internet explorer. which is rarely updated.
