Ah. I see. So... crackpot with no legitimacy. Like his claim of 50 years before we get cyberbrains. Where the hell is he getting that from? We don't even have fully working prosthetics. I'll stack this near my flying cars, moonbase and jupiter mission slated for the far out year of 1999.Admiral Valdemar wrote:Actually, it was a guy who couldn't get a proper job at BT who stated this, not Sony.

It's Transcend! Get him!Pearson also claims that "if you draw the timelines, realistically by 2050 we would expect to be able to download your mind into a machine". Can't wait.

I'm almost convinced it's really him, that's pretty much Transcend's exact claim, word for word. Except that he described the date as "within our lifetime." Another claim was "anyone alive today should expect to live for several hundred years or more."Nephtys wrote:(Chopped up version of another quote)Spyder wrote:It's Transcend! Actually...Nintendo has said "our next generation platform is designed for everyone to enjoy, and what the fuck, we'll let you play every nintendo console game (gameboy not included) ever made on it to.......we'll give you numbers and shit later, or not. Just know it'll lok good and be comprable to the PS3 in power."desertjedi wrote:Well I'm sure Sony, MS, and Nintendo will say that future generation platforms will make everyone good looking, provide cold fusion power to the entire planet, and bring world peace. Oh yeah, they might be able to play some kick ass games as well.
I'm waiting to hear more on the NR, but what Nintendo released at E3, while upsetting they didn't give us hardware or numbers, made me want the NR even more.

So the guy lives as a futurist by remembering and paraphrasing SMAC quotes. New career, here I come. First prediction: Organic Superlube. That stuff just keeps slipping away, I swear!Spyder wrote:I'm almost convinced it's really him, that's pretty much Transcend's exact claim, word for word. Well, that was one of his claims. He also beleived he was partially psychic, the Jane Goodall of cats and that people being killed in high school shootings were the result of people drawing pictures of guns.
And no, I don't mean he thought that drawing pictures of guns was the first sign of a psychological condition that would soon drive kids to shooting up a high school, he actually thought the deaths were attributed to the drawing.
"69 kids have died in high school shootings within the past five years."
His response "Are those shootings or gun incidents? A kid drawing a picture of a gun is a gun incident now."
