Not that I don't like the small part of FFVII that I've played...
There is Chrono Cross which I can't play because its so freken pixlated for the PS 1.

It works in ePSXe, and lets you up the resolution and use your video card's texture filtering features.

I say Chrono Cross is a decent sequel, even if it has none of the original's characters. The story was some fucked up shit, but I had one of those genius moments when I figured it all out.

ePSXe is an emulator for the Playstation. It lets you play Playstation games on a PC, which has several advantages:

1. The PC is often faster.
2. Better resolution! Better textures! Anti-aliasing!
3. You can make backups of memory cards on your huge hard drive.

The only problem is that, in order to use it legally, you must own the games you wish to play and a Playstation and you must dump the Playstation BIOS to your computer. Needless to say, most people do not do this.

You can download the program from http://www.epsxe.com/. Other than the game CDs you will also need plugins for controls, video, sound, and disc access (many of these plugins are compared and linked to on this site, which, unfortunately, contains quite a few pop-ups that Firefox fails to block) the game CDs (the same ones you'd run in your Playstation) and a Playstation BIOS file.

The last one is the most difficult to obtain. The only legal way of doing it is to extract it from an actual Playstation console that you own, but this requires special hardware. Of course, there are also several *ahem* less legal ways of obtaining this file, but I'll leave that for you to discover on your own.

I am actually quite a big fan of Chrono Cross. The music was great, the story and the graphics were pretty good, and the features of the game were awesome. I still haven't gone through the fourth time to get all the characters. And I love how you can fast forward the game after you beat it, that's a really cool feature to make it go by a little quicker on your 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, etc times through.

Chrono Cross was okay, but it wasn't really what I'd consider a true sequel. It had some elements of the original Chrono Trigger, and a few of the supporting cast made cameos, but beyond that it simply wasn't really a sequel. Least as far as some of us hard core CT fans are concerned. :teeth:

Because those who recignize 6 as the greatest ever aren't ridiculous fanboys.

I don't mean to imply all 7 fans are ridiculous or fanboys, but there's a huge contingent of them, yet few for six. So. No movie.

When I become richer than God, I'm going to hire Peter Jackson and give FFVI the LOTR treatment. 8)

I'd be satisfied with a PS2 remake with voice-acting. Mark Hammil would have to be hired for Kefka, of course. Imagine the Joker laugh from DCAU being modified as necessary to give Kefka a good evil laugh. Can you imagine..... AAAAAACK! *goes back into fanboy overload*
