The whole thing is familiar enough to adjust with a single read if you're used to 3rd edition. As a bare-ass pauper I'm usually highly skeptical about rehashes, but there was a lot of positive word of mouth and they claimed my pile of crunchless books were compatible, so I checked out the main book. Pretty much everything mentioned here so far that I may have considered broken has been fixed to a degree that has satisfied me, they rewrote all the numbers at the same time to work together. They also separate Willpower from the target number to control mental disadvantages, which I really like. Too much page count is devoted to the 'Sample Setting' in the general Campaign advice book in my opinion because I don't use it, but I can see where it would be a good example of a free-wheeling, anything-goes campaign frame if you knew somebody who needed one.

That said, I foolishly didn't rule out 3rd ed in my GURPS-Hater Challenge OP, so reading back over everything I hereby award the ceremonial Swing+3 Cru Whacking Stick and the colossal Steve Jackson Pinata stuffed with 6, 10 and 20-sided dice to Sriad, for remembering the incompatible numbers thing first. I've honestly got nothing for that, it only seemed okay to me after I and/or they messed with it. Honorable whacks go to Arthur_Tuxedo for broadening / clarifying the critical hit, and to SirNitram for remembering that marvelous Ultrawank book. And so the megalithic Otaku known only by its gutteral roar 'GURPS!' was beaten down soundly by the flamewarriors of SDN once more, thanking itself for buying Unkillable X3.
