Well no. The PS3 transformer won't be the same in the UK models. If you plugged a US/Japanese PS3 into a UK wallsocket with a standard plug adapter it would say "bang", and become an expensive paperweight. You need a stepdown converter from 230v to 110v to stop things from blowing up. The real funny thing about that claim is that it's coming from the company that sells exploding batteries, they should shut down Dell and Apple.
