You and the Sgt. are getting ready to clear the personnel quarters, after 312 breeches the walls. Remeber, gas is your friend!

Alyrium Denryle wrote:424 draws his carbine and prepares to close the door if there are any rebels still alive, and opens the door
As the door opened, 424 saw a scene of total complete carnage unfold before his eyes. Body parts were splashed all over the walls, and shrapnel
was lying everywhere in pools of blood.

"Take that fuckers for ruining the paintjob on my armor." muttered 424
as he began setting the charges.

From down the corridor, came voices, hestitant at first as they slowly grew
in volume.

"Hurry the kriff up, 424!" shouted 173, slapping 424 upside for good measure.

"Hold your needles, 173....." muttered 424 as he slapped the detonite
packs onto the walls in a pattern calculated to collapse the wall down
into a impenetratable mass of rocks.

Slapping the last pack onto the wall, 424 shouted "We're done!" over
the comms.

"Understood," came the voice of 114. "Get your worthless carcasses
down here, we're about to breach the living quarters."

Nodding, both 424 and 173 ran into the turbolift and as the turbolift
passed the midway point between the lower and upper levels, 424
triggered the explosives with a sadistic grin on his face. A large explosion
rocked the base, followed by rumbling noises as hundreds of
tons of rock came crashing down, burying a few hapless Rebel
SpecForcers, and cutting their only possibility of flanking the intruders
to zero.

"Roger that, sir."

529 tossed a gas grenade in, and carefully peered around the corner to assess the situation as the gas and flashbangs went off.

(OOC: I waited until after the flashbang went off to actually look, therefore not going and blinding myself, in case it wasn't clear enough beforehand)

After the flash-bang goes off, 114 will shout "Cover me!" and go in low through the door, shooting anyone who managed to survive the gas, being careful not to blast any equipment if at all possible.

OOC: meant to belay order about gas in the comm center, was thinking about taking prisoners, but didn't post soon enough, probably not worth the risk anyway.

WHABOOOOOOOOM, the breaching charge goes off, and within moments
the flash bangs and gas grenades are thrown in, detonating and spreading
their lethal cargoes into the confined spaces of the base's living quarters.

Stepping through the hole, 114 saw a bunch of rebel scum lying on the
floor writhing in pain as the gas chewed away at their nerve endings,
killing them.

Anybody not affected by gas get blasted first, then the gassed get it. Once the command center is devoid of targets, 114 will shout "Clear!" 529(Assault) will help stand guard, until relieved by 424(Tech). "424, belay the transport order, get to the command center and get us the info we need. 147 and 735 secure the hanger. 529 will join 454 in clearing the quarters, 312 will start planning the demo."

529 sets up to cover the entrance against any Reb interlopers, and awaits his relief so he can move on to where the real action is.

Quite a few hours before sundown, the Great Gospel pulled out of the hangar with 12 tons of scrap and garbage, and set out for the far edge of the star system.

Not a moment after relaying the course info to the co-pilot and queueing the microjump calculation for later use, Gorp strode over to open ventilation duct in the upper right corner of the cockpit. The duct was no more than 20cm wide or tall, but by lifting his armor's sleeve he grabbed onto the opening with his pseudopod 'fingers' and began to slide his entire body through the sleeve and into the vent.

He formed some eyes on the fingers for a better view as he snaked down through the vent, into the ducts in the living quarters' ceiling, and over to the ventilation shaft in the wall between the living quarters and the internal equipment space, to reach the ventilation airlock. This was the mechanical hatch that allowed the cargo holds' atmosphere to be sealed off from the rest of the ship and be either pumped with another gas or be sealed to a vacuum. Welded into a recess cut inside of the duct was a simple on/off switch, wired to the ventilation hatch from cables pulled all throughout the ship.

There were only 5 other known species in the galaxy that could even fit inside that duct and see that switch, two of which technically couldn't get there without getting stuck around a turn. Another two couldn't reach the vent opening two meters off the ground, one of which was limbless and neither could bend enough to reach the switch. The last one was technophobic and wouldn't even know what a switch was. The knowledge that only Ugor could use this switch, and no other lifeform that claimed 'sentience' could move though his ship this way filled Gorp with a smug pleasure otherwise only felt from food and garbage. He was his ego's own mental fluffer, and vice-versa.

He slid through the hatch past the pair of ventilation pumps, closed it again with a second Ugor-only switch (fap-fap), and plopped into the topside cargo hold.

It was a mess.

All his precious garbage, 'food', and semi-useful scrap items, normally organized neatly into piles in the portside bow of the hold, was scattered about the front half of the entire floor. It was quite apparent nothing was moved enough to have gone out the airlock, but it was unbelieveably infuriating none the less. As Gorp suspected, the commandos went against the plan they told him and used the topside docking rings instead of the belly hold's cargo lift. Probably thought a bulk hauler-grade platform designed to lift starship engines or 40 tons of ingots would snap its meter-thick pylons while flying, for some stupid reason.

He was too enraged to reorganize the mess right now. He blobbed over to the barrel of fat he received as payment, scooped out a large helping with an appendage, dragged a bag of sugar over to one corner of the room, and began to snack and brood over the situation for a few minutes. He idly turned the large handle to his modified giant meat grinder (intended for use on the next Squib to cross his path) as he sorted out the random thoughts on his mind, most of which involved inserting sharp objects into the commandos various bodily openings.

Damn those fuckers. Those meddling scatterbrained fuckers. I never want to see them again. I don't want to hear from them ever again. they don't deserve to come back here... He thought as he sucked more sugar-coated lard into one of his mouths.
By His Word...

Meanwhile, back on the planet, 529 slapped the demo charge onto the
wall between the living quarters and the command center.

"Ready!"

"Go!" shouted 114.

529 mashed the detonation button and the wall to the command center
blew inwards.

114 and 424 jumped into the smoking ruin of the command center,
blasters at the ready, while 529 moved on to the living quarters with
454.

114 and 424 find four rebels staggering through the smoke and dust,
and the gas doesn't seem to be affecting them, then they both see
the reason why; the Rebels have suited up in full NBC suits in the time
between the initial penetration of the hangar and now.

The Rebels upon seeing the two Storm Commandos, duck behind a
bank of computers. Over your suit comms, you can hear them frantically
calling the top level to get the kriff down here.

"Switch to stun 424, let's get some prisoners and spare the computers." 114 will switch to stun and blast away at whatever target looks easiest, and then take cover if he and 424 are unable to get them all right away. "Everybody else, they may have NBC suits, throw everything you got at them!"

3D body strength of computer bank

Difference of 6

114 watched as 424's blaster bolts
chewed into the precious computer
bank, and kicked him upside the head.

"Sorry, Boss man," replied 424 as he switched to stun.

Both 114 and 424 waited for the rebels to show themselves.

114 sees a hand reach out from under the computer bank and fires at it.

5m - Easy - +6
MTRAS Thick Smoke +1
MTRAS Fast Moving: +5
Target Is Small Tiny Thing +4

Total: 16

Roll 1: 2, 3, 6, 4, 4, 3, 2 = 24. Difference: 8 HIT

The target has a health of 3D, and the Stun Damage of the Blaster is 3D:

Roll 1: 2, 2, 5 = 9. (Health)

Roll 2: 3, 6, 5 = 14. (Stun Effect)

The Rebel slumps down, unconscious for several more hours.

Meanwhile, Denryle spots another hand coming up, and snap fires at it, dimly
realizing that the hand is holding a spherical object...

Roll 2: 6, 4, 4, 2, 2, 6, 1 = 25. Difference: 9 HIT

The target has a health of 3D, and the Stun Damage of the Blaster is 3D:

Roll 1: 1, 6, 2 = 9. (Health)

Roll 2: 1, 4, 2 = 7. (Stun Effect)

The Target isn't incapicated, but the shock of the stun makes him drop the spherical
object. He has to make a Difficult roll to shake off the stun effect and kick away the
grenade before it detonates, an 18 roll. He has a dexterity of 3D

Roll 1: 6, 6, 2 = 14.

The Rebel's foot is reaching for the grenade when it goes off, spraying shrapnel
everywhere, ripping into the rebels and the computer banks, which begin to
spark.

"Damnit, I told you, set to stun!" shouted 114.

"It wasn't my kriffing fault he had a grenade!" replied 424.

"We don't have time to screw around. Cover me!" With that 114 will break cover, firing away on stun to suppress the two rebels left, in the attempt to finish off the rebels before they do something else.

As 529 and 454 moved onto the Living quarters of the base, they heard
the sounds of blasterfire coming from the command center, and then a
low boom shook the base.

"Kriffing idiots." muttered 454 as he kicked in the first door he came
to, revealing a Rebel frantically pulling his pants on. Without any
hesitation, 454 shot him in the head, and continued down the
hallway with 529, clearing the living quarters methodically.

As 424 covers 114, 114 breaks cover and comes upon a Rebel
dragging himself along the floor, leaving behind a blood trail from
his torn NBC suit. 114 was about to Stun the rebel then remembered
that stunning a critically wounded person could kill them, and instead
whacked him over the head with the barrel of his weapon.

Turning to the right, 114 saw the other rebel lying in a pool of his own
blood; that had been one hell of an "own goal" on their behalf.

"Command center clear!" shouted 114 over the commnet.

529 continued clearing out the living quarters, dealing with any Rebels he found. He moved slowly and carefully, his repeater ready to deal with any scum. It had no stun setting, and he doubted anyone of importance would be in here anyway.

529 finished clearing the quarters, leaving 10 dead Rebels behindhim. As he and 454 approached the lift, there was an audible *ding* noise. 529 leveled his flame carbine and pulled the trigger as the doors just finished parting. Surprise was total.

...

As the smoke cleared, and the screams faded, 529 took a good look at the contents of the two lifts. They were heaped full of charred bodies. The Rebel defenders never had a chance. He grinned maliciously and walked over, setting two thermal detonaters into each car, and then clicked the "ascend" buttons for each, and stepped back as the lifts returned.

...

*ding*

As additional Rebel reinforcements prepared to board the cars (they never heard what happened to their allies), the doors parted...to reveal their burned comrades remains piled atop one another, and the stench of burned flesh was forever engraved into their minds, their primative NBC gear not being up to the task of filtering it all out.

The Rebels did not have long to worry, however, as atop their comrades in each car were two shiney silver spheres. The quick-witted among them had only seconds to realize what they were, and try to dive for cover. It did them no good.

...

*KER-BOOM!!*

529 allowed himself another grin. These Rebels make it almost too easy.

He signaled to the LT, "Secondary lifts secured, sir."

"Good work. Now get back here and let's finish up."

"Yes sir." 529, joined now by 454, headed back to the command center to finish up this mission.
