And the music's pretty cool too, but I'll probably only play 'capture the flag' with it, like I did with the first one. I won't cry over it like some other people I know. *snickers and looks in a certain board member's direction* :D
The guages are only purple if you're playing an Elite.

To make it easier for them to board the wraiths when we're in them, and to make it harder for us to board them when they're in them. It hasn't stopped me any though.

They took it out because they couldn't find any way to implement it into the game. As in, it was essentially useless.

No way to implement it? You mean it wouldn't work with the game engine, or what? I can't see why not. :wtf:

Nope in the bungie video on the bonus dvd for the Special Edition, you see them driving it around so it DID work. It seems that it worked ok but that in terms of fitting it into the story as in when the Master Chief would make use of it, they couldn't find a way with the story they had planned. However this does not really excuse them from at least making it a Multiplayer only vehicle as it would have been a nice alternative to the Covenant Ghost.

I can kind of see why they would keep it out of the single player because honestly since when does the military use ATV's with machine guns strapped on? Something tells me they wouldnt make very practical battlefield weapons as they would be easy to pick off. But still, as a multiplayer vehicle for pure entertainment value I think it could have worked alright.

Actually, not only could they not find a use for the ATV, but they also said it just wasn't even fun to drive. Hence, it's gone, which matters not to me.

And you can put the Gauss-Gun Warthog on any map with Vehicles... haven't you looked at all the edit-gametype options? You can set a primary and secondary light vehicle (the gauss-warthog being one) and a heavy vehicle for a map.

Headlong also has the Gauss'Hog by default.

I'm hoping in the soon-to-come matchmaking playlists update that they'll actually put the Spectre and Scorpion in there! Especially the Spectre - it's great on objective based games, as it can carry more people than the Warthog can, so it's a good troop transport. And it's currently completely unused for any matchmaking game.

Specter is just a good way to get your entire team killed with one rocket. :P

Ah, I have fond memories of locking on to a Warthog as the driver is screaming for everyone to get out.

I have fond memories from the driver of an enemy warthog yelling "oh shit!" as I perfectly time my jump from a ledge to land on top of it, jack the gunner, and kill them all. :D

Bah, you could say that about getting into any vehicle. You could similarly say "being anywhere in the open is a good way to get yourself killed by a sniper!"

There's typically only one rocket launcher - all you have to do is know where it is.

Me as an example on Coagulation, I grab a sniper rifle, a Banshee - I grab the rocket-launcher, then I fly to that hidden ledge. :p

After playing the multiplayer for sometime now i have decided that these are my favorite games.

Waterworks- CTF hell (We put hell in our titles which means no radar/All vehicals)

Lockout- Rockets- Give you just enough space not to blow your self up most of the time

Headlong-Snipers- this is awesome for a 1 on 1 sniper battle

Beaver Creek- Odd ball or King of the hill- The more players the merrier. We had a 8 player odd ball game the other day. last 45 minutes and the difference between between 1st place and last place was 10 seconds. I have never heard so many "OOHHHH's" in my life

A personal favorite that others enjoy as well:

This can be done on any small map.

"Phatom Rockets" - All rocket launchers, permanent active-camo, no motion sensors.

what's amussing is that it stays quiet for long periods, then suddenly you hear several explosions where someone dies.. then nothing for a while. :D

Two more stories, one of which was inspired by OXM's review of the game:

1) Jumped off a catwalk on Ascension and jacked the Banshee, sending the poor bastard to his doom.

2) Zanzibar: I had the sniper rifle, but neglected my motion tracker. As such, an enemy tried to sneak up on me. Instead of being smart and switching to a close range weapon, I started shooting him and scored a headshot, but not on him. Instead, I blew away one of his comrades that was driving a ghost (I was still killed without mercy).

heh. Actually, that Warthog jacking I was speaking of, I did it twice to the same team on Zanzibar. I waited on the edge of the fan (the side by the sniper rifle) and just jumped down when they drove passed.
