It'll be several days before anything dispatched from Shi space can reach, but the Mauler sent as an envoy to Earth will be there shortly, as soon a s I can post that it headed that way.

I don't think so... at least not yet. Once I have control over Arcane space we will consider what to do on the ground. I dont think a full-scale invasion would be called for. Again, doing this in-character, we would want a strike force to break open some of their intelligence centers and find out the info we need: not an occupation force.
I suppose, although sending a few troops to secure the ground fighter-bases might be wise. Caputre them without having to use orbital firepower, because if there is any chance of this ending without full scale war, we need minimal collateral damage.

There probably isnt much chance of avoiding full scale war at this point.

Ouch, it would appear that full war is upon us, weather we would risk it or not.

Well, you could probably just accede to the Hajr's demands. That would be acceptable.

If you did, we'd show up over your world in your support.

At the outset here, let me repeat a point I made in the last STGOD on these forums: Wars of total annihilation are historical exceptions, not the rule. Most wars end in negotiated settlements. Total conquest is expensive to accomplish and maintain and the benefits seldom make up for it--particularly in this case, as Aly's infrastructure and industry are at the horse-drawn carriage and family craftsman levels, respectively.

Also, in the future, opportunistic dog-piles on whichever nation is weakest at the moment should be avoided. V, W, X, and Y should not always be willing to ally just to carve up Z. Recognizing, for example, that the Ousters are aggressive and expansionist and that any aid to their efforts could prove a mistake in the future, would be good.

Don't be silly, Pablo. No-one's tried to keep me from expanding massively over the last few Lazerus Wars, why would they start now? :P

-edit- I'd like ot add that with the habitual complete surrender of loosing empires in these STGODs, it's no mystery why wars often end with one nation's annihilation.

Lazerus, your fleets won't arrive first, it's a couple hours before Ravenlock, Gladsheim and Baeloaren ships arrive.

I'm occupying 2 Krynori worlds, both of which probably have stargates.

Every world with StarGates on it right now has either Arcanist invasion troops, Ouster troops, or Monacorans, or a combination of the above. Unless you are sending through cruise missiles, you'll be up for one hell of a fight.

And even then...

I have some actually, but mines heavly guarded too, and we would distroy it before letting it fall into hostile hands.

Of course, the stargate-attack thing can work both ways.

I don't think ramming will work, even "short range" battles take place hundreds of kilometers away. Ramming tactics might work, save that these ships are heavily damaged and obviously slowed because of it.
