Cool, I'll post the character (using an already created character). If you want I can list the books I drew his feats from.

Anyway, I haven't played Forgotten Realms at all. I've only played a custom universe, my friend's game.

Best to think of it as Medieval Europe and nearby run through a blender and infused with masses of magic. We're currently near Halruaa, I think.. Think of it a little like the Byzantine Empire, only the 'Roman' Empire was four thousand years ago and had cities that flew in the sky. And spaceflight. And so on.

Out Of Context theatre: Ron Paul has repeatedly said he's not a racist. - Destructinator XIII on why Ron Paul isn't racist.

Well, I capped at twelve, but it's looking like Lindar has lost interest, so with the proviso that she doesn't come back, you're in.
Nooooooooooooooooooooooo! We need the other Female!!!

Let's see. We're going to be adventuring in a Human nation that was overrun from below a few centuries back. It's run by Half-Drow overlords now. The Drow they(Nominally) answer to are under a nearby mountain range. That's Damrath.

A Halfling nation of rolling fields is nearby(Lurien), that's about as peaceful and as dull as Halflings love.

A ravine that makes Mars' largest canyon seem about normal sized houses the largest concentration of Dwarves on the Realms, called the Great Rift.

There's also the Shaar, a massive set of plains that support tribal nomads of several species.

The entire area is quite tropical in climate. Thankfully, our DM didn't decide to place us in the North, where the glaciers can be the size of small continents.

Interesting.
What Nit didn't say is that you're near the last remains of that great Empire. All they have is a tendancy for every man, woman, and child to have at least a little wizardry skill. They also have public schools, flying ships, trade with space-faring nations, and nearly impenetrable natural defenses.

That's what you get when you build in a crack between three mountain ranges and the ocean.

Right. So, how we doing this? You guys want to work out a way for you to all be together, or do I need to have some patron hire you all and have you work together to get this going? Clue: I really don't like having to pull a deux ex machina to get the party together. It's always too cliched. Could we work this out, please?

Well... I was thinking that evry party would need to hire a guide. So once everyone else gets in gear, I can be hired on to guide them thru the wilderness.

Not like you're going to miss a 6ft tall woman with (dyed) brown hair and a hawk following her around............

Well, Greyson's obsession with extradimensional travel provides a nice hook in a couple ways. Either he's come to the area after hearing of a portal/whatsitthingy or he's found one ELSEWHERE and gotten horribly lost as a result. He's CG, so he'd be likely to join up with a group with a decent chance of doing something spiffy. Or something else entirely, just my random rambling.

EDIT: And the proximity to said ubermagical nation is another good link with Greyson, to explain why he'd be in the area to begin with.

So long as there's the prospect of loot my character would be more than willing to go along.

I'm here mostly to inflict horrific suffering on the Half-Drow of Dambrath. It's a Paladin thing. Anyone headed in that direction and armed is a good enough group to travel with.

Given the amount of non-corporeal firepower in our party, 'armed' might not even apply to us :)

I figure a certain high priestess called me in to do bad things to the worshippers of a certain goddess of pain. Naturally I would take any help I could get.

My character has money needs, isn't a bad guy, and has the hatred of tyranny one gets from living under it as a form of government and as parental behavior. Hooking up with a Bane hating Tormite and kicking tyrannical ass for fun and profit is his kind of thing.

Let me know if you find anything wrong with my character, Rogue, and I'll be online during work hours tomorrow if you think of anything.

Although YB suggested something like a Leomund's Secure Shelter/ Tiny Hut as a reusable magic item. Say command word, it unfurls as per the spell. Say the opposite, it shrinks back into a little pocket-sized toy.

Sounds fun. Okay, we can arrange something like that. And no, actually I was rather impressed with your character.

If a Red Wizard is in the party, he will be the first casualty. Because the very instant my life does not, second by second, depend on his existance, I am going Holy Judgement upon him.

Instead of killing him, I would render him helpless and release slaves to deal with him as they see fit

I would do that by casting ray of enfeeblement so he can barely move, and then hit him with a curse to knock down his intelligence

Similar motivation. Minus paladin. Plus "Dogooding Idiot"
