Meh, organizational difficulties at the moment. Straha mentioned Krynn and the Arcanist homeworld as needing support. I'm showing up at one, but I need to work out with him which one it was he wanted me at.

In any case, not allowing the Monacorans to land and secure facilities before you have the chance to destroy records and make off with sensitive information, plus the personnel required to make full use of it...well, it's a very, very bad move.

The Arcanists are going to be remembered in the history books for a very long time, and it's not going to be a pretty picture.

Okay, for the time being, assume that Alpha Fleet is at the big furball in Toril, near the Monacoran Marines approaching the Homeworld. I'll edit my post accordingly.

By the way, Laz, Nitram, I'm calling foul on the replication of stargates. Ordinarily, it wouldn't be a problem, except for one teensy little detail.

Goa'uld never knew how to make the gates. They just use them. Unless I missed something major, no Goa'uld ever managed to obtain the knowledge of the ancients, which is rather a pre-requisite to making Stargates.

For the record, this is the agreement you signed with Straha:

We agree to a military alliance, you come to our aid in times of war, we come to your aid in times of war.
During times of conflict we get complete control over your armed forces (renegotiatable in six months game time) and your financial controls (ditto) in return, when we are able to make investments in your little nation, we will. Also, we will allow you access to Krynor tech to be reversed engineered by you under our supervision, if iti is understood that we will be selling tech to other nations, and any information found privatley by our labs does not need to be shared with you.

It hasn't even been six days, let alone six months. You're in gross violation of your treaty. Nobody is going to be willing to deal with you at this point if you persist.

You just threw your only chance at continuing in the STGOD right out the damn window, and for what? One last chance to thumb your nose at the Arcanists. Good job.

I can think of one major Gou'ald who had access to that information, and a number of times it's suggested the Gou'ald know how to make 'em. However, I'll leave this to Laz to explain; I just got handed the disks and promptly prepared to make all your lives hell.

Even so, it would occur to me that the gates should be regarded as Relics. If you want to steal a few, fine, but they should be a limited resource that can't be replicated.

I'm pretty sure that instant point to point travel with no limit on distance is beyond the ability for DS9 level tech to reproduce.

Well.......the ring transporters look a whole hellova lot like stargates, and we know the goa'ould have increadably detialed knowledge of how to operate the gate.

My troops were under his control the entire time, the ship captians meerly had their comm dishes turned off for some inexplecable reason and so where unable to recieve his orders. the offercs in command of the ships will be disiplined of course.

Possibly, though it depends on what happened in the Genocide wars. Existing gates may have been destroyed, disabled, or thrown in to stars or deep space by any worlds that had them and saw them as major security risks.

So would saying that I can have say........10 gates total at any one time be unreasonable if I launch a salvage program?

I'd say it would reasonable if you perhaps find a valid gate address once every month or so, if you're very lucky, and there's a very valid chance that whatever on the other side is not going to be happy to see you.

Ok... Here is what I am planning to do... This will solve numerous problems.

Pending our withdrawl, we will transfer "Guardianship of the portals" to the Atlanteans. They are neutral in this entire conflict, they do not support forms of genocide or confrontation. They will allow you to perform your investigation, while at the same time, guarding my people.

They are unable to colonie in the long term due to physiological differences. etc etc.

(This would aslo have the added benifit of curbing laz's powergaming, by controling his supply of material spell components, many of which cannot be found outside our worlds.. you know... dragon livers and whatnot)

I am making sure everyone(laz not included) aggrees before we transfer ownership.

No, you deployed several thousand troops, minimum, and somehow a few hundred managed to survive the tac-nuking of their positions. You violated your treaty bitch boy

(I am also trying to phase spells out to return game balance)

Doesn't really matter. Either way we're going to remove people that we think are badly placed throughout the entire Jardanian armed forces, and we're going to replace them with our people.
