Shit, I just assumed he was free every other weekend, not just every other Saturday. Son of a bitch.
Why don't all 6 of us post our schedules and we can figure out a solution from there? Hopefully no one will have to sit it out, but we're not cancelling this game. CorSec hasn't played in like a month, during which the rest of us played twice.
Ok, I'll go first. All times are PST.
Sat:
9am-5pm: Free
5pm-12pm: Busy
Yes, it's true. I am available every other weekend. I'm free all day tomorrow but I have tentative plans for Sunday afternoon. That means I talked to a friend Monday about something and I haven't heard back from him. I'm not opposed to a morning game. Since I'm off, my schedule as flexible as Cirque de Soleil.

Are you east coast or west coast? I forgot.
If East Coast, could 11 AM to 2 PM EST on Sunday work? You'd still have most of the afternoon after that.

P.S. I still don't know whether you're East Coast or West Coast. What's the timezone in the "City of Dis"?

The City of Dis is timeless as the torture of godless heathens has no beginning and no end. However, since Dis is only my mailing address - kinda like a PO box, I take up residence on the east coast. But I never stray too far from home as sometimes I can actually see New Jersey.

Also updated the cybernetics on Ernesto and Mikal, and the money for everyone.
As for the new Ernesto and Mikal, only one thing can be said: "I am become death, destroyer of worlds." They haven't even spent their new XP yet and their ATs are 28 for Mikal and an inconveivable 34 for Ernesto! Yikes.

I had a great deal of fun in the game, and it had pretty much all I look for in a Cyberpunk setting. It had killing, it had some moments of drama and some moments of humor. And yeah, I am patting myself in the back for making sure we dragged those corpses along. Carlos is not paying us, and that is fine but we needed some spending money and now everyone has some. And yes, Ernesto Mk2 is looking to be veeeery interesting. I plan on having fun with that, heck I may even write a little 2-4 page post dealing with Ernesto getting used to the new toys he had implanted. HEHEHEHE.
Something that should be decided before next session is how the VP will be questioned. Will Xak simply probe his mind like with David Brenner? If so, then that will be ~15-45 minutes that nobody else participates in, and should be taken care of sometime before the session itself.
If we go that route, though, the mind probe will be a little bit different. Last time I allowed Xak to just kind of take all of David's knowledge about a subject, but the way it's supposed to work is finding the answers to specific questions.
As usual, everyone gets a vote, and as usual, if a few days pass and only 2 out of 5 players have said anything, then only their input counts

HA!
*coughs* Anyways, I think that we should utilize a sort of compromise. As 007 noted in "Golden Eye" the problem with the world is that no one cares for a good, old fashioned interrogation. Its a lost art, so I propose that we bring it back. Mikal should be a capable interrogator (he IS Russian afterall). However, overlooking the talents of Xak would be foolish in the extreme. As such, I suggest that we get together, come up with a few questions that Xak should ask, and use them after Mikal has gotten all he can. It would be intimidating to have someone like Xak in the background. Imagine this if you will.
Mikal: Stares coldly at the bound vice president. "I do not believe that you are aware of your situation. Out in the real world, you have influence, power, dozens if not hundreds of men willing to fight and die for you. But this is not the real world. You are a spider, caught in our web and you will tell us what we want to know."
VP: Narrows his eyes and looks defiant.
Mikal: Smiles. "I was hoping you would prove to be reluctant to see things my way." Walks over to a nearby table and unzips his bag, a wide assortment of tools revealed.
VP: Gulps.
Mikal: "How about we start with your fingernails?"
VP: ...
Mikal: approaches. "Oh, and in case you have missed him the man sitting in the corner is a telepath. A powerful one, if you lie to me he will know and that means I will know."
VP: glances towards Xak who is making his best impression of a statue.
Mikal: "try to keep the screaming down alright? the room is not exactly sound proofed. Soo, where shall we begin..."
Holy shit, that's a lot of cybernetics. With the exception of SS arms and legs, Ernesto and Mikal are just as much machine as M6 is. What was all that about not giving yourself over to the machine?
I was about to get pissed about the cybernetics being handed out when I wasn't there, but after reading through the chat log, the corpies didn't have much that I don't already have. So you're forgiven, Art.
As for the interrogation, I think RPing it would be fun, like Marcao said. It'll probably take most of a session, but it should be interesting.
Also, since I've got a shit-ton of XP, I'll make sure and spend that before the next session (I forgot this time). I look forward to Nov. 6 as if it were my birthday.

Hehe! Well, if you noticed most of Ernesto's cybernetics are kinda subtle and mostly internal. So, while he may have a lot of Cybernetics he still looks human.
Another thing to think about is what to do with the corporate elites' armor. It is polymer combat armor (24 resistance, 6 weight, -2 balance, -2 alertness), which is much better than what anyone in the group has. The one with the leg-piece severed below the knees will need heavy repairing, but the other one is relatively intact.
I'm also thinking of ways to improve the cover system, because it bothered me during the last battle. I didn't like the way it was possible to hit someone behind cover during the entire round that they returned fire. I want the new system to simulate people popping out of cover and popping back in as soon as possible, and if the opponent isn't quick or anticipatory enough, he won't even get the chance to fire. But I don't want something that will add another die roll or slow down the pace in other ways. I'll let everyone know when I come up with something.

I call a suit. I'll use that as my primary armor instead of that one guy's (I forgot his name) guard armor. So if anyone wants a suit of Spectra, you can have it.
I don't know why I didn't put this up before, but Hotfoot made an XP calculator that should be real handy.

That's even handier than the original one. (Though, I still don't know where my error was in calculation. Admittedly, I haven't tried looking for it either.) But there are a few things missing! There aren't any allowances for taking extra Concentrations of major skills nor is there a place for having taken Abilities or Merits (and adding xp for Flaws). That's easy enough for me to do for my single character or any subsequent character I build, I'm just looking out for the Excel/Tensided n00b. But a fantastic job otherwise linking those cells, Hotfoot.
I'm still thinking of questions that we can ask Mr. Vice President Fancypants. Since it's Jack and he's just in it to clear his name, the questions I come up with may not further us towards some goal. (I mean, how relevant is "How much does a suit like that cost, anyway?")
I'm working on an equipment price guide for the campaign setting, something that's long overdue. A long time ago I said that most of the things that can be accomplished via cybernetics can be accomplished with "normal" equipment as well, but I never got around to actually specifying what kind of stuff is out there and how much it costs until now.
I'm just getting started with it, but so far I've done firearms accessories. In the future, look forward to Smartgun goggles, supersoldier ear buds, and other cool widgets so that non-upgraded people don't have to take a back seat.

The operations had been a success whatever doubts he may have possessed were dispelled when his internal cybernetic systems alerted him to the improvements which the software components scattered through his body detected. It was not surprising that the cybernetic systems which were scattered throughout his body utilized a sort of plug and play architecture derived from old Microsoft systems. In this manner, he was always aware of his capabilities. The new implants had changed a great deal within him, his visual acuity had more than doubled, his hearing was boosted and he had far more capabilities at his finger tips.
His head throbbed, a pain that he did not deemed strong enough to utilize his pain editors upon. Pain was a reminder that he was alive; as such it was a welcomed sensation at a time when it felt that he had taken one step closer towards inhumanity. He was super human, and he felt no shame in admitting that. He would have been a fool to let the opportunity come and go, the idea that the cybernetics which resided within him currently had hours before resided within the bodies of others did not bother him. The people within this…hospital were competent, and he understood that like weapons themselves cybernetics were amoral, tools to be utilized and nothing more.
His head turned, eyes seeking a familiar package and immediately detecting it. His visual processor highlighted everything of mention in the room, chairs, clocks, clothing, anything and everything. He took a step and then another, taking a moment to further explore the capabilities of his new eyes. His eyes parted the visual spectrum, exploring the UV and X-ray capabilities that his previous eyes had lacked. When the option to detach his eyes presented itself, he pointedly refused. His eyes had no business being anywhere else, but he could already formulate a few scenarios where that capability could prove useful. The world itself seemed to move at a slower pace than he remembered, no doubt due to the improved super soldier processor buried within him.
The increased amount of raw environmental data which was available to him was staggering; he could isolate nearly any sound occurring within 200 yards and determine its source, heading and a host of other nuances. His eyesight was so keen as to border on the divine, his x-ray capabilities peering through walls and allowing him to anticipate and predict where targets would be as well as granting him unparalleled access to the ebb and flow of a battlefield. All of this was contained within his flesh that was his line in the sand. He refused to embrace the machine in an overt manner. It was perhaps his way of fooling himself into believing that he was still human. Nonetheless, he was aware that every piece of cybernetic that boosted his reflexes, every time his eyes parted the veil between the darkness and accented those that he had to kill, he took another step closer towards admitting what he already knew. He had no use for humanity; all that was left was efficiency and survival. His body was no longer held back by merely the flesh, it was no longer a temple mirroring that of the divine, it was simply a tool, an instrument in whose efficiency his survival depended.
He reached his target, his arms moving down to pick up the bag and retrieving his clothing. He removed the traditional white hospital robe and dressed quietly. As he did so, he admired the truth that hid beneath his powerful muscles. Beneath his skin lived a machine, increasing his strength, amplifying his capabilities and coaxing him ever closer towards absolute assimilation. It took him a mere seventy three seconds to get dressed once his mind was made up he did not waste any time. After he was dressed once more, he went to the process of securing his arms. Five minutes after he had started, he was once more ready to move. The familiar dull headache which resided within his skull ignored for the most part.
He took a deep breath, holding it for a moment before his left hand reached for his cell phone, a number picked and dialed. It took a mere three rings before the connection was made.
”Hola Roberto, soy yo.”
”Si, estoy bien. Te estoy llamando porque quiero uno de los productos que tu tienes.”
”Si, la misma. Porque? Porque te importa? Si yo te puedo pagar tu no deberias tener problemas Roberto…”
“Si. Si, you te puedo pagar. Cuando fue la ultima ves que yo te llame y no tenia el dinero?”
“Nunca. Entonces cual es tu problema Roberto? Tu no vendiste lo que yo quiero verdad? Perfecto. Si, yo se que me va a costar dos mil quinientos dolares. No te preocupes Roberto…”
“Bien. Traemela a esta direccion.”
“Gracias. Te veo en una hora.”
The cellular was turned off and disappeared within its usual resting place. In less than an hour, he would pick up that polymer military armor he had been wanting for quite sometime. The cost was a bit steep but he could afford it. He hesitated for a moment, before he decided to pay a visit to Mikal. They had a bit to talk about, and the Russian would owe him one now. It was not everyday that anyone got their hands on the goods that they managed to scrounge up today. Of course, Ernesto knew that had he not done it, Mikal would certainly have done it himself and then scolded him afterwards for missed opportunities or some such. They had both come a long way from the jungles in Cuba. Now, all that was left was to discover how Carlos had roped him into the party. He had seen Mikal’s face when Carlos had been in the area, and it had spoken volumes. They really should talk, especially now before the Vice President had been cracked and Carlos possessed all the cards.
Good post. That's not a bad idea, by the way. If anyone wants to take care of some business between one session to the next, or clear up something at the end of the last session, this would be a good way to do it.
Also, it's my policy never to take a say in the way loot gets divvied up, but I have to admit to being flabbergasted that Jack and Xak accepted the situation without saying anything. Out of roughly $1 million dollars worth of stuff, Ernesto and Mikal walk away with $960,000 of it, M6 gets $20,000, and Jack and Xak get $10,000. I made a pie chart to illustrate, just because I think it's funny.
Now I'm still not taking sides or getting involved, but I bring it up because I know M6 will as soon as the next session starts, so don't be surprised when he does.

Well here is the deal, Xak rarely, if ever, neeeds to pay for things anymore if he doesnt want to. So a 10k dollar sum is what he will need for several years etc etc etc It isnt like he lives above his means or anything, and he simply doesnt care, greed doesnt enter into the equation much.
BTW, I am all for the compromise approach to the interrogation. I ccan even enhance his physical pain, and mentally torment him with mental images of Margaret Thatcher masturbating on a couch with a spiked dildo
And can I mind rape him when we are done?

Oooh pretty chart! Here is pretty much how Ernesto saw it. First of all, it was his idea to grab the bodies. No one thought of it first, and he as far as he is concerned "earned" it by blowing the legs of that one dude. It has already been established that Mikal and Ernesto go back, and he figured that M6 probably had more than enough cybernetics anyways. You will keep in mind, that when M6 "claimed" the Mercedes because he had the foresight of getting the keys for it, Ernesto did not say a damn thing. That was a 200K vehicle, and Ernesto nor anyone else in the party received any sort of compensation for it from M6. Granted, M6 drove us around but you get the picture. *shrugs*

Its cool and to be honest, I expect that some comments will be made and I am ready to field them. Ernesto is not going to be losing any sleep one way or another. If at all possible however, perhaps we should have a such an exchange between M6 and Ernesto here? OpenRPG is not exactly condusive to big ass posts.
