*Beeeeeeep*
P.S. Don't be afraid to throw him into a dangerous situation.
P.P.S. Within reason, of course.
P.P.P.S. Don't forget his retinue. Have fun.
P.P.P.P.S. Again, within reason.

Yo, YB, feel free to right up a scene with Yashida finishing off the survivors in the bunker any way you feel like big cat.

Yeah, I didn't mean to ice you out of the action. It's just that Prius would tend to try to keep Varian and Pater insulated from the action.Stormbringer wrote:And I'm just waiting for something to do.Petrosjko wrote:I was likewise waiting for everyone else.
Anyway, there's a post, and then I've got a meeting in about twenty minutes, and I won't be back online until after midnight CST sometime.
Cheers.
Varian could say to hell with it and come riding to the rescue, too. He is on the young and impulsive side, and some thrilling heroics would not go amiss.

It's no problem, you're playing the character as he is. That's just fine by me.Petrosjko wrote:Yeah, I didn't mean to ice you out of the action. It's just that Prius would tend to try to keep Varian and Pater insulated from the action.

As for the heroics? Well, maybe if I need to bail out a certain commisar.
In other news, just finished reading Lord of the Night. Good read, fairly well written. However, one major glitch when he referred to hellguns shots as 'spattering lead' against a hard surface.
Er.
No.
Majorly interesting insight into the Schola Psykana, though. In the story, the character is trained as a psyker first, with no foreknowledge of where she'll be assigned. Then she get shipped off to join the Inquisition.
Major bone of contention. A lead circlet blocks the abilities of an astropath in the story. While it does feed a really cool plot device... LEAD, for Christ's sake.
Er.
No.

Lead was supposed to have that sort of propety, according to classic alchemy, and the same is used in parts of various imperial sheildings.Petrosjko wrote:In other news, just finished reading Lord of the Night. I don't know. Could an inquisitor issue orders to loyal Imperial subjects and have them obeyed? One must ponder the subject at great length.
Dive right in.

Yeah, but if it was so simple to nullify psyker powers, lead would be far more in use.Stormbringer wrote:Lead was supposed to have that sort of propety, according to classic alchemy, and the same is used in parts of various imperial sheildings.
It did make for one of the best scenes of the novel. I gave Spurrier a mulligan for Firewarrior because it was an adaptation of the computer game, and he managed to carry it off well for the most part. I knew jack-all about the Night Lords and Konrad Kurze, and this gave an insider account of both Kurze's life and the actions of the legion in the pre-Heresy and Heresy era.

Shoulda specified a bit more, but yeah, I was trying to go for a dramatic style of writing that let the reader fill in the blanks visually.Stormbringer wrote:I take it that it's Prius giving this big speech?
The beauty of this format being that it allows for experimentation.
As for the head-on business the Judges are worried about, that's not precisely what he's planning, although if he thinks that's what'll make the big splash that Jolan needs to get through and accomplish his mission, he's quite willing to do it.
But he's so looking forward to tossing waves of martyrs at the gates. It's just like in all the history slates about the great crusades of the past! And he's the guy inspiring the charge! How cool is that?
(Truthfully, I had meant that to just be his speech for the senior leadership... for the troops not so much on the whole 'rigging the sanitorium to blow' business. My bad for not specifying. But cool, we'll run with it.)

really bad is that I'm starting to lapse back into the eldar mindset....
*speaks something about humans, like the species was the most vile curse word in the universe.*
hmm should I just open a gate, kill a shitload, and then run like hell?
