Hey, Aly, I thought you only got so far as Hitler at Nuremberg? How are you getting all of this stuff on obscure comedic figures from the 20th century?

A hundred and fifty frigates! No fucking way you turned those out three to four months! Those might as well be skeets if you can turn them out that quickly and in those kind of numbers!

It's not that unreasonable, they are just frigates, light weapons, point defense, and some have a single torpedo tube. It'd guess 100-250m long ships.

Mmmm. Going to be a few years before I can re-enter the playing field, with that being the response to mere frigates.

I ran this by Pablo. This is a 30% increase in my fleet size and strength, with vessels just as good as my original fleet vessels. Considering the massive industrial complex I've built, fed by the plunder of two dozen systems, aquired, might I add, with little effort by other to stop me, and the locustlike nature of my race, it should hardly be shocking.

The point I'm trying make is it seems to me that they're a largely disposable, extreme light weight. Because I know must people (even those with major industrial bases) only added a few dozen ships.

How many are on war footing?

I believe almost all of them are. And that doesn't change the fact that a thirty percent increase of hulls in three months (and using a signficant part of it from conquered territory) is a bit unrealistic if they're supposed to be a really signficant combatant. I can buy it is they're disposable tin can (as mass produced warships usually are) but not really otherwise.

::raises hand::

I'm not creating ships though.

The problem I have with these massive outpouring of ships is that where are you training the crews needed to man these ships so quickly, without a loss of quality?

Though I'm going to increase the numbers my yards put out gradually. I'm operating under the assumption that moving to war footing takes a bit of time, unless you really rush things, which can lead to some undesirable results.

However, if the Ousters have only been building these 150 frigates, hey. I myself will have 50 new ships coming off the lines very shortly, 45 escorts of various types and 5 cruiser scale ships, with a battleship about halfway done at the moment.

However, if he's been building cruiser and capital scale ships as well, I'm going to have to ramp up my own ship production. I obviously have the shipyards, and I have plenty of natural resources to draw from.

We're a spacefaring race, with large civilian spacer populations. Additionally, you'll note that the new fleet is being rotated back towards Elysium for maneuvers; they aren't experienced as the crews on my original three War Clusters. these guys aren't being sent to the front lines.

The point I'm trying make is it seems to me that they're a largely disposable, extreme light weight. Because I know must people (even those with major industrial bases) only added a few dozen ships.
Yup. And they aren't ruthlessly exploiting the resources of four dozen systems. First off I'll point out that all the light vessels (cruisers and escorts) are being built back in my home systems, which have industry as good as any else's, backed up by a simply massive workforce and resource base.
And that doesn't change the fact that a thirty percent increase of hulls in three months (and using a signficant part of it from conquered territory)
It hardly matters whether the territory is conquered or otherwise; it's not like I'm using local labor to tear up their asteroid belts or uninhabited planets.
is a bit unrealistic if they're supposed to be a really signficant combatant. I can buy it is they're disposable tin can (as mass produced warships usually are) but not really otherwise.
The nature of my power is quite well known- locusts. No one has made credible efforts to stop me, despite a number of glaring vulnerabilities (some of which we've discussed,) and now the consequences of 140 pages of complacency and hand wringing are showing up.

The next run of construction, which will finish in another 140 pages of STGOD, will add another 2 War Clusters, and 140 pages after that, anotehr 3.
